Generally you want to install one mod at a time so that you can pinpoint where the problems lie if there are any... You may want to redo all your changes and upload the files once you complete each mod. Parse Errors usually mean a problem on the user (modder, not the author) end... That being said, if you post the code from viewtopic.php from lines 1200 to 1250, I bet someone here could pinpoint it for you....

thanks. I think I'm going to try to redo it, like you said, one mod at a time.

if I'm still having problems, I'll post again.

I hope someone can help.

Step one went along fine... I recieved a number of "COMPLETED" messages, then it said something about deleting the install files... I didn't do that as It didn't tell me to in the install doc.

Now when I tried to drag and drop the contrib files, I began getting a number of " an error occured while coping a file to the FTP server. Make sure you ahve permission to put files on the server"

So it didn't copy in many of the contrib files.

I also now sure the following errors/warnings:

Please help... someone! :cry: Cindi

How does this relate to this mod? It looks like you're missing some files. I suggest you double check all the files are present on your server.

If you're having problems with that then you might be better asking in the support forum

I installed this mod fine and I like it a lot. I just can't get the icon to show up, it's very weird. The code is right and the image is in the directory it's supposed to be in. Can anyone help? He is the code from overall_header. My site is http://www.forumtopia.com/forum

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_WATCHED_TOPICS}" class="mainmenu">
<img src="templates/tropico/images/icon_mini_watch.gif" width="12" height="13" border="0" alt="{L_WATCHED_TOPICS}" hspace="3" />{L_WATCHED_TOPICS}</a>
Thanks

ok, one more problem, when you mouse over the link for Watched Topics, the underline extends past the picture. It doesn't do it for the other ones and I can't figure out what the problem may be. Here is the code from overall_header:

Code: Select all

<td align="center" valign="bottom" nowrap="nowrap">&<span class="mainmenu">&<a href="{U_WATCHED_TOPICS}" class="mainmenu">
<img src="templates/tropico/images/icon_mini_watch.gif" width="12" height="13" border="0" alt="{L_WATCHED_TOPICS}" hspace="3" />{L_WATCHED_TOPICS}</a></span><span class="mainmenu">& &<a href="{U_FAQ}" class="mainmenu"><img src="templates/tropico/images/icon_mini_faq.gif" width="12" height="13" border="0" alt="{L_FAQ}" hspace="3" />{L_FAQ}</a></span><span class="mainmenu">& &<a href="{U_SEARCH}" class="mainmenu"><img src="templates/tropico/images/icon_mini_search.gif" width="12" height="13" border="0" alt="{L_SEARCH}" hspace="3" />{L_SEARCH}</a>
edit I figured it out, I had a space in there :oops:

Post by MalachiMan » Mon Nov 03, 2003 10:27 am

Everything was going fine while i was installing the mod until I came to
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<td align="center" valign="top" nowrap="nowrap">

#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<span class="mainmenu">&

I couldnt find these lines in my overall_header.tpl file.... Is it because I'm not using the subSilver template???

Hey, thanks anyways but i figured out a way to kinda fix it, again I kinda just gery rigged it like I do with most of my PHPBB problems. But just for the record i am using ashGrunge... I just stuck the code that was suspose to go in the overall header into the overall footer and it looks better anyways.

Excellent mod! Very easy for me to install. One small suggestion:

Currently, you can only add topics you have created or replied to. It would be nice to be able to add other topics. If there is a way to do this, I have not seen it. Other then that, thank you very much for this.

You can add topics by clicking the 'Watch this topic for replies' link at the bottom left when viewing a topic.

I'm fairly new to this so be patient. I didn't set up phpbb originally, but I don't think I'm using Subsilver template, just the default (there was no "subsilver" folder inside of "PNphpbb2/template" directory. Can I still use this mod?
