This has actually been converted to PNphpbb, you'll find it at pnphpbbhacks.

Great Mod! Thanks
However my Header links need to be moved to the left as the Register tag is half-missing.

What settings do I change to allow me to move the Watched Topics/FAQ/Search tags across?

Thanks

Maybe reduce the size of your logo?

Or you could move the menu items into a new row so they appear under your logo.

ANONYMOUS users

Post by PLG » Thu Jan 15, 2004 1:03 pm

I noticed that 'ANONYMOUS' is placed on the watch list if the user is unknown, but the rest of phpBB will place the posters name in the place.

Your code...

Code: Select all

$last_poster = ($watch_rows[$i]['poster_id'] == ANONYMOUS ) ? ( ($watch_rows[$i]['last_username'] != '' ) ? $watch_rows[$i]['last_username'] . ' ' : $lang['Guest'] . ' ' ) : '<a href="' . append_sid($phpbb_root_path . "profile.$phpEx?mode=viewprofile&" . POST_USERS_URL . '='  . $watch_rows[$i]['poster_id']) . '">' . $watch_rows[$i]['last_username'] . '</a> ';
revised...

Code: Select all

$last_poster = ($watch_rows[$i]['poster_id'] == ANONYMOUS ) ? ( ($watch_rows[$i]['post_username'] != '' ) ? $watch_rows[$i]['post_username'] . ' ' : $lang['Guest'] . ' ' ) : '<a href="' . append_sid($phpbb_root_path . "profile.$phpEx?mode=viewprofile&" . POST_USERS_URL . '='  . $watch_rows[$i]['poster_id']) . '">' . $watch_rows[$i]['last_username'] . '</a> ';
You will have to add

Code: Select all

p.post_username
to the SQL statement too of course.

Just my two cents...
Thanks for your MOD, very handy. :D

Adding to the Aeolus theme?

Post by CTCNetwork » Sat Jan 31, 2004 8:01 pm

Hi,

I am NOT using the subSilver theme. I use Aeolus. 8)

Because of this, I wouldn't know where to add the following :-

#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<td align="center" valign="top" nowrap="nowrap">

The above section is not in the theme.

Ok, is there any way I am able to add the lines needed in overall_header, and more importantly, where should I add them .. ?

Any suggestions/guidance most appreciated.

Good idea too, keep it up.. :D

GREAT mod !! :)

But only problem :(

As mentioned by a number of users, it appears this mod can only be used with SubSilver. All my themes dont have the text in their overall_header.tpl file.

I have 19 themes on my site and so far none have that bit of code; one theme only has a 50 line overall_header file :?:

Such is the nature of modding :?

Mod authors cannot be expected to tailor their mods to every theme out there as such you'll have to roll up your sleeves and modify them yourself (it's only adding a single link to the overall_header menu, although you might also need a non-subsilver graphic for it) or seek help with specific themes either here or from the author of the theme.

Is it possible to use this MOD on other styles, or only subsilver? I wanted to use it on my Athena skin. I was wondering if it would do the same thing esentially, or if I had to make a new button for the style. Thanks for the help. ;)

There's no reason why it wont work on your template, but it might (probably) wont work "out of the bag". See the post above ;)

If you're struggling to work out how to modify your template then post here with specifics of what you're struggling with or ask the template author to help you out.
