MOD Validated & Released

Personal Notes:
I think a nice update to this MOD would be a section within the FAQ that let's people know about un-checking the privacy checkbox within their profile. Other than that, great little MOD here!!

Do you mean this one that is already there ?

Code: Select all

## Make sure that in your Yahoo Public Profile you uncheck "Check the box to hide my
## online status () from other users" checkbox. Otherwise the status will always show you as offline.
## More about that flag can be found here http://messenger.yahoo.com/messenger/onlinestatus.html

donpedro00,

Yes. Perhaps in a future version you can slap that into the phpBB's FAQ system. It's just a suggestion, and not saying you need to do it. It's just one of those things that I see may get asked a lot, and pointing your members too an FAQ is a heck of a lot easier than typing the answer a bazillion times :D

Can you use your own icon rather than the one provided with this mod?

yes. In the file subSilver.cfg (if you are using the template subSilver), replace

Code: Select all

$images['icon_yim_status'] = "$current_template_images/{LANG}/icon_yim_status.gif";
and only change the name of this : icon_yim_status.gif by the name of YOUR image

It is becaouse you are using modified style. Original mod was designed to work with icons that have specific size. In my mod I displayed icon with no smile face and than I am overlaping it with picture from Yahoo at specific position. You might need totaly different aproach.

It would be nice if you can post link to post where I can see how it behaves.

Try to play with

Code: Select all

position:absolute;left:32px;top:4px
to get Yahoo smilie face to correct position. Also, I would sugest base image with no Smilie face as backround.

#1) What file is that in, and how do I edit that line? (sorry, I'm a total n00b. :P )

#2) I don't want a background for it, because then it would look funny, if it is the only one with a background. Is there any way to do it without one?

Open MOD and do search in it for that string. Than you will see in which file it is used ;-)

That is how it is designed. As a backround I used white icon with red Y. Smile face is dowloded from Yahoo based on status. To make it work diferently, you would have to modify this mod or craete new one ;-)
