Need the mod

Post by gracetoday » Tue Mar 01, 2005 11:03 pm

Yes, I'm confident that it will work with 2.0.11, but since the mod was taken off the download, it is not available to anyone to try.

I'm requesting that rather than waiting for the next version (for 2.0.12), I'd like to get the "latest_topic_on_index_1_1_4.mod" version now.

The download of this file is locked out.

Thank you.

Thanks alot for such a nice mod,
I install it But I Can see anything because I don't know where and how I put SQL things
I have 2 questions...

1- where exactly I put #-----[ SQL ]------------------------------------------
#
INSERT INTO phpbb_config ( config_name, config_value ) VALUES ('topics_on_index', '10');

#
and how??

2 how I can move the "Last Active Posts" box to the top of the forum?

thanks you... samnj1

for question 1, open PHPMyAdmin and run the statement in a SQL query
on the relevant database.

check out the following article:
http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=151

for question 2, checkout the second last reply I made on the following link:
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.ph ... &start=345

Hope that helps.

I'm about 2 years behind on reading this thread.
I'm assuming by your quote below, zparta:

that a new link to the new updated mod will be posted in this thread?

ok I have completed the installation of this mod, and all went very well. I took my time to ensure I got it right.

HOWEVER, all that i get is a large space underneath the who is online box. There is nothing in this space and its about as long as a whole page length.

The only thing I noticed when installing was this..
This is taken from the install instructions:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
index.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
	//
	// Start output of page
	//
Well when I searched index.php that could not be found, the reason for this was obvious.. because I have the latest phpBB version (2.0.13) and when I looked into a 2.0.11 version it was there. I added this part of the script where I thought it should go and that was here:
AFTER...

Code: Select all

//
        // End forum statistics
        //
        //
Can anyone please tell me if this is what is causing ther problem, and if not what is?
A blank space at the bottom of the page, I can only do one thing with.... REMOVE IT! and I really want this MOD :D

...HELP!

How can I make this display the most recent topics on my main page instead of the forum index? My internet is painfully slow so I skipped to look through the already existing 27 pages, sorry. :(

Hi,

This MOD installs - usually, in the index_body.tpl file which will display on your forums main index page...

If you have some other page you want ti to be displayed in - insert the code for the MOD into that page in a similar fashion . .

Hope this helps,

It doesn't work... grr I spent an hour on installing this :( I don't really know how to put the code on another page though. The forums are on a subdomain, and the mainpage is on the primary domain.

Hi,

There are a cople of other MODs that may help with that. phpFetchAll is one.

I believe thereis also a PHP Anywhere MOD as well, but can't remember where I ssaw t last. .

That will get youover the fact that you are drawing info to a different domain from your forums sub-domain. . . Use an iframe for the page . .

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. I checked my forum version, and it's only 2.0.8 is that too old for this mod? And what is an iframe? :D
