Ummm, no it won't solve anything.

If they are running the attachment MOD, that will break this page.
If they are then they shouldn't have made the attaachment MOD specific changes.

try this

I was getting the same thing before.. i think this is what you may need to do.
Graham wrote: That looks very much like you've installed the version provided for use with the attachment MOD, and not the standard version. You just want the file out of the root of the download, not the stuff in the addon folder

This is a really useful mod, but now it's made me spoiled! I have the same question that this person did:
scanar wrote: Any plans or anyone know of a similar mod that presents a list of persissions by usergroups lists or member lists? That would be a logical and useful addition!

I have lots of groups on my boards and it would be really nice to see a summary of forums that they have access to and what rights they have.

Help w/CH

Post by IgnorantNewGuy » Sat Oct 01, 2005 6:09 am

I have just installed Categories Hierarchy on a fresh 2.0.17 board. This is my next MOD - well, after "Complete Database Backup" MOD.

I installed Permissions List and it did not work.

I do have the "Permissions List" link in the ACP, but it only shows one forum called "Test Category I." That doesn't make any sense as I have a bunch of categories and forums.

Any ideas?

Board is test.carphighalumni.com

By the way, I have installed this MOD on another board that does not have Categories Hierarcy. This is probably the problem, but I'm still not sure why.

Thx,

Problem with Easy MOD

Post by dodgevipe1 » Tue Oct 04, 2005 8:18 pm

hi,

i tried installing this permissions MOD with EasyMOD. I keep getting an error something to do with the languages that looks like the following:

Code: Select all

FIND FAILED: In file [language/lang_albanian/lang_admin.php] could not find:

$lang['Permissions'] = 'Permissions';

MOD script line #51 :: FAQ :: Report
I have installed the Admin Userlist mod, spellcow spell checker mod, and EasyMod.

What should I do?

thanks
ed

Hmm Im doing it manualy and cant find "$lang['Permissions'] = 'Permissions';" either. Closest I got is: " = 'You do not have permissions to search any forum on this site.';" :lol:

Whilst I don't know where this lives in other language packs, it is present in the English one

Code: Select all

....
$lang['Configuration'] = 'Configuration';
$lang['Permissions'] = 'Permissions';
$lang['Manage'] = 'Management';
....

Nope. Not in mine anyway.
But then again it might _have_been_ there. I'll check and see if there is any othere MODs thata have removed it.

I keep getting this message when i try to install Permissions mod through easymod

Code: Select all

FIND FAILED: In file [language/lang_albanian/lang_admin.php] could not find:

$lang['Permissions'] = 'Permissions';

MOD script line #51 :: FAQ :: Report
[/cod]

Not sure if it is conflicting with other mods? I have installed so far- Import Member mod, Spellowcow spell, and easyMOD.

Any suggestions?

Does this mod do that?

Post by Deco20 » Sat Oct 22, 2005 3:02 pm

I'm looking for a mod which allows non-registered users to access forums, see the topics but don't allow them to access inside the topics (only access could enter inside topics).

Can this mod do that?

Newbie, First Mod

Post by A Human » Mon Oct 24, 2005 6:48 am

Trying to get the change permissions in Topic by Category.

I seem to have successfully completed the permissions listing which seems to work fine but can see no where to change as described.

Thought that maybe the second mod (Addon)

When I follow the instructions

Add After
attach_setup_forum_auth($simple_auth_ary, $forum_auth_fields, $field_names);

I get an error re that line.

I see above another mod for Addon but I cannot find the text in

admin_forumauth_list.php

to add the above suggested changes.

Any help much appreciated

Great MOD!!! Have it working on 2.0.18 OK

Gives a great visual of all the permissions ...

Possible improvement ....

Would it be possible to change the colour of the text/background of the permission types?

eg.

ADMIN might be Black text on Green background;

REG might be Black text on Yellow background

PUBLIC might be Black text on RED background etc ...

If this was possible you would very quickly be able to visualise the list looking for "Row Coloured pattern combinations"

Handy if you had a large number of forum topics ... you might quickly see where you had not set permissions correctly for a particular forum topic

Regards,

GaryW
