Thanks mod team...my first mod! 8)

Just a note, the only reservation I have is that you can only search in one bible version. I chose the New Revised Standard Edition as that I saw it as a neutral choice, simply because it also searches the Apocrypha for our Catholics that use phpbb.

Regardless of that, it is a simple button on CrossWalk's site to press to change the version. Plus, advanced users can change the code in bbcode.tpl to default search in another version.

Simply change the version in bbcode.tpl changes to one of the below AFTER YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE MOD.

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
templates/subSilver/bbcode.tpl

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<!-- BEGIN bible --><a href="http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word={QUERY}&version=nrs" target="_blank">{STRING}</a><!-- END bible -->

#
#-----[ INLINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#

&version=nrs

#
#-----[ INLINE REPLACE ]------------------------------------------
#
# Choose one of the below. Do not add what is in parenthesis.
#
&version=nas (New American Standard)
&version=asv (American Standard Version)
&version=nkj (New King James Version)
&version=kjv (King James Version)
&version=msg (The Message)
&version=nlt (New Living Translation)
&version=rsv (Revised Standard Version)
Thanks! :D

Yeah...definately very targeted! I bet this will be handy to many forum owners!

[off topic]What's up with your signature? I've seen many people with sigs like these...how?[/off topic]

I like this mod.
Yes, it is targeted. But it is also a great site, broad, well-designed an interesting. As such, it can be an interesting point of view for a lot of conversations.
Thanks much!

I'm having trouble with this one during installation.
Where you have

Code: Select all

#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
includes/bbcode.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
   $bbcode_tpl['email'] = str_replace('{EMAIL}', '\\1', $bbcode_tpl['email']);
I can't find that in my bbcode.php file and I did install the bbcode mod that is found here http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=145513.

Any advice?

Are you trying it on a 2.0.6 installation?

On a text editor its around line 110. You might snoop around there and see what you can find.

Another possible answer is that my bbcode was submitted long before the 1.21 version of the multi bbcode came out...I'll have to compare the two versions to make sure. Thanks for the heads-up ;)

Maybe I'll install it on my church's forum (once we get ours online).

This mod does not put a bible database on your forum; it links to crosswalk's bible database for easy access to their extensive amount of online resources.

Unfortunately, I do not see anywhere where they offer the bible in Portugese. I'm sorry. :( But if you do find a way to do it, please let me know! :)

Cross_+_Flame:

First, wonderful idea. :D God bless.

Second, it would require some dev, but you could always use bible.gospelcom.net instead:

http://bible.gospelcom.net/languages/

As you can see, they have four Portuguese translations. :D
