What would be great with this mod would be to add a javascript keypressed event listener on the posting textarea that would automatically add the "[tab]" statement in the post.
I can provide some help or sample code if the author is interested, i beleive it's not very hard to do.

here you go

I have not tested it in all browsers, and of course that has to be adapted to phpbb, but you get the idea :).

cheers

In Mozilla 1.5, that does insert the <tab> when pressing tab, but it also advances to the next place the tab would normally go (the Address Bar, in the case of that sample).

Useful, simple mod.

Simple install.

What's not to like about it? :)

ok... having a problem with this... something about it is indenting (good) and turning OFF wordwrap (BAD)... it may be a combo with a preformating mod I installed... but it only happens on IE on windows... IE on Mac it works great, Mozilla it works great... this only happens with IE running on windows machines...

I've got IE, and I'm running windows XP. Works good for me.

Did you mean the server is windows?

I would place odds on this being the case.

Problem

Post by webtron » Fri Nov 28, 2003 8:58 pm

I have a problem, I don't have $EMBB_keys = array or the other two EMBB lines that the MOD instructions tell me to find in posting.php

I have 2.06, is there something I need installed on PHPBB to have those lines?

This TAB thing is way too cumbersome and limited. I'd like to suggest an alternate approach that works much better. There is a BBcode called [PRE] that lets you retain all the spaces in text. Space your text exactly the way you want it, slap the [PRE] and [/PRE] codes around it and everything displays perfectly -- columns or whatever you want -- because spaces are retained.

The link to PRE is here:

http://www.phpbbhacks.com/forums/viewto ... hlight=pre

If you want to see what it looks like, check this post in my forum:

http://www.wwe-club.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11561

One look and you'll see how powerful this is.
