Code: Select all

## CREDITS
## phpBBToGo is based, in part, on phpbb_fetch_posts
## by Ca5ey <ca5ey@clanunity.net> Volker Rattel
## http://clanunity.net
[...]
As the comments in the code indicating you are using a deprecated code base of phpBB Fetch Posts. That version stopped at 1.3.2 and is not longer maintained.

I'm also curious what your changes compared to that base are?

Hello! Thanks for the great code!

I'm afraid I didn't keep track of the exact changes that I made. A lot of the functions that existed in phpbb_fetch_posts.php now exist in togosolo.php. I added one or two new functions, like one to fetch a thread. I also added a lot of variable settings to personalize the way the phpBB information displays. I didn't use the CSS in phpBB Fetch Posts examples, but use basic html. I don't provide "examples", but provide a few php pages that work together to display the "mobile web site". Sorry I can't be more specific, and I hope that satisfies your curiousity.

Excellent mod! I have been waiting for something like this for a while. It works great and now I can finally post a mobile version of my forum!

In case anyone wants to see a demo here is my forum micro-sized

Pretty Sweet--Any way to make it so you can add replies to the topics--even if you have to do it by posting as a Guest?

Sorry to ask about something that seems obvious to some of you but what is the concept behind this mod ? What does it do exactly ? Does it turn phpBB into something viewable on mobiles or am I mistaken :P ?

No, not at this time anyway. There are some mobile templates avaialble that will allow you to post. You can use the mobile templates for full "online" browsing/posting, and phpBBToGo for limited browsing, for syncing, or whatever.

I run an NFL fan site and it would be great to type to the boards for things like training camp stuff, etc without having to haul around a notebook.

Where would someone go about finding that sort of template?

"Attachment mob"

Post by PAZU@_@ » Mon Dec 22, 2003 7:33 pm

I am currently using the "Attachment Mob",
I wonder if this viewer mob
can view those attachments of topics?

I'm not familary with this mod, but probably not, unless the "attachment" really becomes part of the post.

Right, it turns phpBB into something viewable on mobiles. Viewable is kind of the key word there - it will allow users of Palm or Pocket PC devices to read your forums, but not add or edit anything. More to the point of the mod, though, is the fact that your readers don't really know you're running phpBB at all - you use phpBB to manage your content, and phpBBToGo to transform that content into a mobile web site that people can read anytime/anywhere. Make sense?
