Hello,

Sorry to bug you, but I have what you may think is a dumb question. I have just set up my phpBB board and I now need to have the language selection of forum user to be detected automatically. I have your Automatic language detection MOD but I don't know how to instal it. I'm not a programmer but I can install simple MODs. what are the steps for installing your MODs?

Thanks!

The instructions are described within the MOD. What is the exact problem that you don't understand?

How to set a default language for country codes that are not defined in the ACP panel.

My forum has 2 languages, Dutch and English. I would like all non-Dutch visitors to get the English version.

Bramster,

Any unrecognized entry (not defined in the language mappings of this MOD) will automatically default to the boards default language, which you can set in the general settings of the ACP.

In your case just set the board default language to English and set the mappings for Dutch.

This is for those where:

a) This Mod fails to insert Codes in Admin section because of an T-SQL Error (MS SQL Server 2000 SP3)
b) Hardcore Guys that only edit their SQL Tables manually
c) Have a large multilanguage board and wonder what the codes are

This is checked by ISO, but plz report any bugs.

This is my SQL Error:

Setup:
Windows 2003

Error Found:

The correct T-SQL statement in my setup is this:
Note: X = The login name for the phpBB account in SQL Server

INSERT INTO [X].phpbb_config (config_name,config_value)
VALUES ('auto_lang_sq','albanian')

I don't know if this is a special situation in my setup
or a general SQL problem with this MOD.
Don't blame either me or the MOD dev if you don't have this error :D :D

BUG or Conflict Warning:

Those having this MOD "Default language mod"
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=135381

May run into troule when using THIS Mod, too !

Problem:

When both language MODz are running, you get one of these problems:

a) PHP error, due to in common.php THIS mod overrides the other mod, PHP going nuts,

b) No PHP Error and THIS mod running great in all situations but only when the code for THIS Mod in common.php is written BWLOW the MOD linked above.
But, the MOD linked above (Language Dropdown-Box) will not run correct anymore, as it is overridden by THIS mod.

*confusion ?* Nah ...

To sum up, there is a conflict between these two Mods and somebody has to find a solution or one of these Mods has to be kicked out

These two language selections mods (one automatic, one manual) would make a perfect Multilinguage solution:

1) THIS mod makes the 1st try and autoselects the User's language
2) The Mod linked above gives the User a choice to manually select a language afterwards (overrides the automatic selection).

Thx!
