My Mistake... .this is in posts. I was thinking topic name.

Any ideas on that?

I saw a mod once that if a topic was in all caps it would change the first letter of each word to upercase and the rest lower case.

Isn't that just a default PHP function?

yes, it's the ucfirst function : http://fr3.php.net/manual/en/function.ucfirst.php

ucwords -- Uppercase the first character of each word in a string

:)

The only problem with your mod here, is that it does it for the post no matter what. So if they type stuff in lower case.. or a word it meant to be uppercase it will be changed :?

Yea, I don't like how it changes everything either. When I type I tend to use correct sentece structure and it looks really bad when every word is lowercase, or capitalized.

the MOD will change only the first letter of the post, so if someone type :

HELLO, HOW ARE you ?

or

hello, hoW are YOU ?

it will return

Hello, how are you ?

to make a correct orthograph in the sentence

Yeah, I'm just saying

If someone says:

PHP is a really cool language, along with HTML and SSL.

It would return:

Php is really... blah .... along with html and ssl.

At least from what I've tested. and wierd thing that happened to me was it also capitalized the first letter of the last word O_o

Ohh well, I don't really have a need for this, heh

I'd suggest having two admin settings...

1) An admin definable minimum percentage of the post which is in caps before the caps are changed. Example... If this is set to 25%, any post under 25% caps would not be affected by this mod. Any post over 25% caps would have all caps except the first letter of each sentence changed to lower case.

2) An admin definable minimum length of the post before the caps are changed to lower case. This way short posts would not be affected by the mod.

1) Too complex i think :?

2) Good idea :)

This mod is good but like everyone else said - it changes every capital letter to lower case. I have a clan website and some folks add their clan tag and this mod changes it to lowercase.

There has to be a change for abbreviated strings as well. I suggest a check for a 5 character max abbreviated string to NOT be changed to lower case. Other than that, I think this is a very good mod.
