  1. if 1.2.4 is the latest where do i download it from ? (assuming it's been validated)
  2. is it possible to default the signatures to off across the whole boards and only enable the ones that i want to 'on' ?
  3. is there something that will do the same with the 'website' part too ??
thanks :)

  1. The most recent validated version is 1.2.3. The link to 1.2.4 is in the post above yours.
  2. I don't think so, not by default. However, each member can be controlled, not controlled, or set to no signature individually. You could always modify new accounts to automatically be set to off, though right off the bat I'm not sure what code would need to be touched.
  3. I think there is but you would need to check the MOD database.

ok - i have tried to use easymod to install 1.2.4em, but get the following error (using phpbb 2.0.21)
SQL PROCESSING HALTED

An error was encountered while processing the SQL commands. Further SQL processing has been halted. You may choose to complete the MOD installation anyway and perform the SQL commands manually yourself. However, at this point EM cannot guarantee the MOD will work correctly so you are best off seeking support from the Author before continuing further.

The failed line was:
INSERT INTO phpbb_config(config_name,config_value) VALUES('sig_max_lines','5');;

SQL ERROR: 1062
Duplicate entry 'sig_max_lines' for key 1

should i try to install manually or is there something i need to do to get it to work via easymod ?

thanks

Great mod! Works great, but one thing I would like.

It has the option to dis-allow the [URL] BBcode, which is nice, but people can still type "www.yahoo.com" or anything else in their sig.

Is there a way we can disallow anything that was www.*.com? Or have a word sensor that applies strictly to just the signature? That way we can make sensors for www., .com, .net, .org, http://, etc.

Thanks otherwise!

Have you tried installing it before? That error is basically saying the entry is already in the table.

You could manually add the SQL if you have a way to do it, like phpMyAdmin. Then just don't run the pieces you already have.

Check the sections you modified in the admin folder for errors. :)

And you can use EasyMOD even if subSilver isn't your default style. You just need subSilver installed(EasyMOD attempts to make the changes in the other templates for you as well, if it can't you will get the warnings at the end). Unless you can install it without subSilver...mabey if you install it manually.

cotp wrote: Hello all :), since I installed the MOD Signatures control 1.2.4, my members can't update their signatures anymore. I looked at all my MODifications one by one, but find nothing.
I also did a test with a test member modifying the signature, it doesn't seem to update in the base. Would anyone be kind enough to help me see what's wrong ?. Wich file do you think can cause the problem ?

I am having the exact same problem.

To the people not able to set your signature anymore...

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------
#

/templates/subSilver/profile_add_body.tpl

#
#-----[ FIND ]------
#

	<!-- BEGIN switch_signature -->
<!-- BEGIN switch_signature_allowed -->
	<tr>
	  <td class="row1"><span class="gen">{L_SIGNATURE}:</span><br /><span class="gensmall">{L_SIGNATURE_EXPLAIN}<br /><br />{HTML_STATUS}<br />{BBCODE_STATUS}<br />{SMILIES_STATUS}</span></td>
	  <td class="row2">
		<textarea name="signature"style="width: 300px"  rows="6" cols="30" class="post">{SIGNATURE}</textarea>
	  </td>
	</tr>
<!-- END switch_signature_allowed -->
	<!-- END switch_signature -->

#
#------[ REPLACE WITH ]-------
#

<!-- BEGIN switch_signature_allowed -->
	<tr>
	  <td class="row1"><span class="gen">{L_SIGNATURE}:</span><br /><span class="gensmall">{L_SIGNATURE_EXPLAIN}<br /><br />{HTML_STATUS}<br />{BBCODE_STATUS}<br />{SMILIES_STATUS}</span></td>
	  <td class="row2">
		<textarea name="signature"style="width: 300px"  rows="6" cols="30" class="post">{SIGNATURE}</textarea>
	  </td>
	</tr>
<!-- END switch_signature_allowed -->

#
#-----[ SAVE/CLOSE ALL FILES ]--
#
# EoM
Notice: I had a conflicting switch around the signature fields, if you do have tags around your signature field, remove them. Put only the tags for this modification around it.

That fixed it for me, it should fix it for everyone else.

No, that probably won't work for anyone else. For a few reasons:
1. You are talking about some other style
2. You installed some other mod that conflicted with this one

So your board isn't like anyone elses(except mabey on some random chance someone else did the same thing as you).
