Re: installing after signatures have been created

jupro wrote: Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone knows what happens if you install this mod after users have created signatures using images that are outside the max allowed dimensions.

Do they get error messages?

Want to install it on a site where people have linked to rather large images, and I want to know what those users are going to see when they log on next.

Thanks very much.

The mod prevents people from updating their profile if they are violating the "rules". They won't see any error messages, nor will it remove their current signatures (unless you reset everyones sig)

Thanks,

I guess I'll have to let people know - and remove their signatures.

Okay, so I tried installing this tonight and I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. I've read through this thread and a couple of people have mentioned this, but I don't think I've seen a solution.

In ACP, when you're updating a user in User Management to switch 'Can display signature' from No to one of the other options, the database doesn't actually update the values. Why is that?

I double checked my mods for admin_user.php and I followed it to a T.

Also, why is it that some people's signatures show up and some don't, even when 'Can display signature' is set to no?

I configured this:

Pretty much identical problem. I am not a software guy though I have done a couple of simple mods. I recently set up a new board 2.012 and installed easymod 1.03 I used easy mod to install the signature mod and it seemed to go great but I too have the above issues. Is there a fix please??

I figured it out, seems I was using the 100. version of the software, you may want to sort out the link in the mod database. I upgraded to 1.2 and works amazing now. I did have to reset all signatures to get everthing ok but was worth it. Love the mod, Great work.

Hi, and thanks for some great modding.

I was wondering if this Mod can be used to limit signatures to occur ONE TIME PER PAGE only? I am not very restrictive with sigs on my forum, but soem are a bit flashy and I would like to limit the overall exposure.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Having problems with this MOD. It seems that every time I go to change around the settings in the configuration for the signatures, it resets when I leave it. And another error I'm having is that every signature contains a little BBcode-looking thing that looks like this> [size=]

I installed with easyMOD.

Sig Control 1.2.1 on phpBB 2.0.13 quick question...

Post by Treppiede » Sat Apr 02, 2005 3:48 am

Hello Everybody,
I am trying to install manually the Signature Control 1.2.1 MOD into my phpBB 2.0.13 board, and everything seemed to proceed smoothly until I was asked to do the following within the file "usercp_register.php":

Code: Select all

#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------------
#
$avatar_sql = '';

#
#-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]-----------------------------------------
#
[...etc...]

Unfortunately, in my version of phpBB, the file "usercp_register.php" does not contain this string "$avatar_sql = '';" although it does contain several instances of "$avatar_sql =" by itself.

I have no other MODs on my board except for a mass mailing mod that I have installed last year (to allow mass emails to be sent in groups).

I would immensely appreciate if one of you guys could give me advice on how to proceed from this point.

Thank you for this great MOD, I hope I will be able to use it soon.

Walter

Heyho everyone :)

Does this mod work with version 2.0.13 ?

Is this mod able to lets say limit the height of an image as signature? If so, what will happen to signatures with images bigger then allowed when installing the mod?

Thank you for your help,

Greets :)
