Is very simply, but this don´t wanna say that is bad.

But would be better if the lenght for admins and also mods could be set in ACP like the "normal" maximun lenght

This is not directly answering your question, but if you want a Moderator to be exempt from the Maximum signature length, use this code...

Code: Select all

if ( strlen($signature) > $board_config['max_sig_chars'] && $userdata['user_rank'] != 2 && $userdata['user_level'] != ADMIN)
You will have to replace the 2 in ['user_rank'] != 2 to whatever rank your moderator's have [look in the source of a user page (in admin panel) at the option values for special ranks to find out the number required...]

Nope, it isn't a zip file. It's a normal text file with the file extension .mod to show that its a modification. If you have WinAMP installed, don't doubleclick the file to open it as .mod is a registered file type of WinAMP ;)

Too bad this doesn't work in conjunction with Signatures Control.

Nice Mod

Nice Mod, although one caveat, it disables the ability to have an image in your signature if that image is linked to an offsite server such as putfile or imageshack. :o

Unfortunately I found an error in this useful MOD: You can save longer signatures for Admins in the admin's user profile, but you cannot save them under ACP > User Admin > Management > "Admin Nick". If you try to save the ACP profile page, you get a "signature too long" error.

Fix (add this to the MOD):

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
admin/admin_users.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
			if ( strlen($sig_length_check) > $board_config['max_sig_chars'] )

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
			if ( strlen($sig_length_check) > $board_config['max_sig_chars'] && $userdata['user_level'] != ADMIN)

#
#-----[ SAVE/CLOSE ALL FILES ]------------------------------------------
#

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
		if ( strlen($signature) > $board_config['max_sig_chars'] && $userdata['user_level'] != ADMIN && $userdata['user_level'] != MOD)

I'm curious about this as well.

Why not just try it? ;-) And yes, the code you quoted looks correct but I didn't test it myself.
