[2.0.12] Hide BBcode MOD

Post by Extensions Robot »

MOD Name: Hide BBcode MOD
Author: EGIS
MOD Description: Adds a Hide BBcode to your forum, which reveals the hidden code (images too) when some text is clicked. Great if you want other users to agree before viewing information about for example the ending of a book. Also great for hiding screenshots and big images so they don't screw up the page layout.
Usage: [hide]Hidden code here[/hide] or [hide=Text to be clicked]Hidden code here[/hide]

MOD Version: 1.3.0 (Updated 03/04/05)

MOD Validated/Released

Notes:
This MOD makes it so that you can hide text in your posts and it is only readable when the user clicks some text.

This MOD will not work if users have javascript disabled but the hidden text will be readable.

It does not show the text for NS4, Opera5 and Opera6.

You mean the [hide=text]? It's not shown on any browser without javascript because it's generated by the javascript.
If you mean the [hide]text[/hide], that's very strange because it's not made with any javascript, and the opening tag for the container-div is inside <noscript> tags.

Opera5 and Opera6 supports the display attribute, but it is read-only, so it can't be changed.

NS4 does not support the display attribute at all. It only supports the visibility attribute, but this is a different thing.

You can see the difference in this site:
http://www.quirksmode.org/js/blockinvi.html

That's a bit outdated, though.

Shof515, Opera added write support for the display attribute with version 7. ;)

Sorry I didn't know that, but I can't think of any fix for it. Luckily these are old browser's that's not widely used. (lame excuse)

I was unable to actually install this mod. In the very begining it states to find in the posting.php file

Code: Select all

#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------
#
$EMBB_keys = array(''
$EMBB_widths = array(''
$EMBB_values = array(''
I am unable to find this coding in my original posting.php file. Please help.

SirAndrew:
I have tested installing it with Easymod and it works, so it should find the lines. Another mod may have changed this, so try looking for

Code: Select all

$EMBB_keys
as Shof515 said.

I have submitted an update to the mod that will have better browser support (thanks to markus_petrux), fix javascript error in simple_header.tpl and will also fix a security issue with the javascript.
