That's ok...if you can't take a look at it I'll just deal with having to scroll.

Thanks anyway!

if you really cant install markus' mod try to install the reduce_admin_navigation of Oxpus, of course its not as good as markus' mod (send the money for the ad markus  )

jalabelle2: That's the problem with some preMOD'd phpBB packages. ...who's the author of this one?

The author is a group at www.phpbb2.de

I've already gone there and checked to see if anyone has tried installing it, but no one has.

To be honest, as simple as this mod is, it's the first one I've had a really hard time installing (after learning a bit about php and tpl files)

IPlasma...could you send me your files that you've edited to get it to work? (index.php, index_navigate.tpl and functions_jr_admin.php) I'm sure I could get it to work just fine if I saw code similar with mine. The addy is joey(at)jalabelle.com. (of course, replacing (at) with @

Thanks a lot!

hi markus i noticed you certainly didnt have time to submit an install file for the Junior Admin to the MOd database so i made one. Just check if there's no mistakes

Code: Select all

##############################################################
## MOD Title: DHTML Slide Menu for ACP (for Junior Admin MOD Author: Nivisec <
## support@nivisec.com > (Billy Sauls))
## MOD Author: markus_petrux < phpbb.mods@phpmix.com > (Markus) http://www.phpmix.com
## MOD Description: This MOD turns your ACP left pane into a Dynamic HTML Slide Menu (roll-in/roll-out effects),
## making it easier to navigate. It should work on latests versions of all major browsers, and is supposed
## to degrade correctly on non-supported browsers (ie: all categories remain open). It also uses cookies to
## remind previous menu state. Really useful if you have many MODs installed. :-)
## MOD Version: 1.0.0
##
## Installation Level: (Easy)
## Installation Time: 5 Minutes
## Files To Edit: 3
## admin/index.php
## includes/functions_jr_admin.php
## templates/subSilver/admin/index_navigate.tpl
## Included Files: 0
##############################################################
## For Security Purposes, Please Check: http://www.phpbb.com/mods/ for the
## latest version of this MOD. Downloading this MOD from other sites could cause malicious code
## to enter into your phpBB Forum. As such, phpBB will not offer support for MOD's not offered
## in our MOD-Database, located at: http://www.phpbb.com/mods/
##############################################################
## Author Notes:
##
## phpBB related:
## - Tested with phpBB 2.0.10
## - This MOD is EasyMOD (0.0.11a3) friendly.
##
## DHTML related:
## - It's based on the onclick event for TD tag and style.display attribute.
## - It should work on latests versions of all major browsers.
##
##############################################################
## MOD History:
##
## 2004/08/11 - 1.0.0
## - This is same as 0.0.5 Beta. Just changed the version number to upload
## to the phpBB MODs database, as well as a couple of MOD header fields.
##
## 2004/08/09 - 0.0.5 Beta
## - Fixed cursor pointer for non-IE browsers (cursor:pointer;cursor:hand;).
## Now, it should work on: IE4+, IE5Mac, Mozilla, Opera6+ and Safari 1.2+.
## It doesn't on: NS4, iCab and OmniWeb.
##
## 2004/08/08 - 0.0.4 Beta
## - Fixed a couple of problems with cookie functions.
## - Fixed a javascript error in displayObj() if x.style is undefined (NS4).
## - Added ability to close the opened category.
## - Added ability to use a shorter interval to hide the menus at onload event.
## - Initial display, now works with 0 miliseconds interval, much faster.
## Note setTimeout is used to allow the browser to show the roll-out effect.
## - So now, initial display closes all categories much faster, and it only leaves
## one opened, if one was active last time the ACP was used.
##
## 2004/08/07 - 0.0.3 Beta
## - Fixed a small bug: First time the script is executed, no categories are open.
## Now, it opens first category by default.
## - Also changed initial display behaviour. Now all categories are initially displayed as
## open. Then, at onload event time, they are closed (applying the roll-out effect).
## This one solves an issue with legacy versions of Netscape, Opera and OmniWeb browsers
## which does NOT support changing the display attribute.
##
## 2004/08/06 - 0.0.2 Beta
## - Re-written almost all javascript code to implement the roll-in/roll-out behaviour
## when opening/closing menu categories (aka. slide menu).
##
## 2004/08/05 - 0.0.1 Beta
## - Initial Beta release

Thanks for the files, IPlasma. It worked great!!

Found the problem also...I had made all the changes I should have, even without some code being present. Had I posted the code here, it would've been caught in a second by a familiar eye. ;)

I just had to drop the template code changes down about 5 lines...that's it. Everything else was fine. :D

It's working now though.

Great mod markus!

Thanks again IPlasma!

jalabelle2: I never thought the jr_admin MOD was your problem.

I didn't found the time to pack it  yet, however I already updated my first post on this topic pointing to this post:

Markus, thank you for the great mod! I have however one small problem: all the categories work fine, except the ones for the Attachment mod I installed (also found on this forum). It rolls out the category as it should, but as soon as I click on a link it gives me the following error:

Code: Select all

Template->make_filename(): Error - file does not exist
Before I installed this mod the links worked fine. I checked the files and they are all there (from the attachment mod). Furthermore two of the links DO work. Any idea what might me causing this?

Thanks for the quick reply! I changed the file, but the only thing that changes is the error message:

Code: Select all

Template->make_filename(): Error - file ../templates/subSilver/requestedfilename.tpl does not exist
So I'm afraid it isn't fixed :? .

hum strange its supposed to give you the exact name of the file. Do you have EXtreme styles installed? this mod is not compliant with it. At least, you know its a template file :? try to check your board with your last backup

Caedus: Make sure you have all the templates in place (for all styles). For instance, try to select subSilver as your user style and check. Works? ok, then select another style and try.

I can't see why this MOD may conflict with the Attachment MOD. :?

IPlasma, sorry but I wanted to generalise the error. It does give me the exact name, like this:

Code: Select all

Template->make_filename(): Error - file ../templates/subSilver/admin/attach_manage_body.tpl does not exist
or

Code: Select all

Template->make_filename(): Error - file ../templates/subSilver/admin/attach_quota_body.tpl does not exist
The 'Special Categories' link does work. I really don't get it :?:

I do not have the Extreme Styles mod installed and I only have subSilver (changed a bit, but subSilver nonetheless).
