I just installed it on my board with a quick reply and now when I attempt to use the quick reply I get the error that says you must type a mesage. So I guess it doesnt work. To bad this is a great idea for a mod.

1-st.
Look inside archive of "Super Quick Reply 1.4.0" into file:
\contrib\ts_sqr.mod

2-nd.
Or there is another soluion here:

ok i'm using this mod on a custom style were everything is black. But the box is white and with the white text that the site uses you can't see the text in the search box. how do i change the background color of the search box to black?

The script tested on 2.0.21 - works fine - BUT SLOW!
da_badtz_one wrote: I would have wished this mod to have been much more efficient. Currenctly it takes 17 seconds to search through a topic which has over 400 replies and over 3500 queries.

man you are right... i somewhat fixed it a bit =) check this code... the script is so badly written it creates a new sql query for each iteration (post)... this makes server load really high and long results.... this is a code snipped digged out around line 388 as i have coded it....

Code: Select all

                        $search_ids = array();

                        // Topic Search MOD - by fantomex
                        // We'll create the list of valid post_ids
                        if(!empty($tid))
                        {
                            $topic_post_ids=array();
                            $sql = "SELECT post_id
                                    FROM " . POSTS_TABLE . "
                                    WHERE topic_id = '$tid'";
                            if ( !($result = $db->sql_query($sql)) )
                            {
                                message_die(GENERAL_ERROR, 'Coudld not find user data', '', __LINE__, __FILE__, $sql);
                            }
                            while( $test = $db->sql_fetchrow($result) )
                            {
                                $topic_post_ids[]=$test['post_id'];
                            }
                        }
                        // END Topic Search MOD

security problem

Post by fantomex » Tue Sep 05, 2006 2:27 pm

This line isn't quite adding security as you are parsing $tid directly to the sql query.

Code: Select all

    $tid = (isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['topic_id'])) ? (intval($HTTP_POST_VARS['topic_id'])) : (intval($HTTP_GET_VARS['topic_id']));

i missed the intvals so it should be ok =)

the mod seems to earch for text in all posts EXCEPT the first one (that started the thread). does anyone know what i need to do to get it to search the first as well? i'm sure it's a matter of extending the search query, but i'm new to modding phpbb, so any help would be much appreciated.

This issue seems to affect the whole search engine, not just the mod. I've made exactly three posts in a personal phpbb installation, some share certain words and others have unique words. The site-wide search doesn't pick up on the same words that the topic search doesn't pick up on. (ie, "once", "not"). Anyone have any idea?
