MOD Validated/Released

Notes:
This MOD will add a Moderator Control Panel for all moderators, similiar to the Administration control panel. It does however, have a limit control, so moderators cannot pose a security risk, or annoyance. Moderaters can disallow usernames, edit smilies, manage users accounts and more.

It's an excellent MOD... I installed it and integrated with Smilies Upload MOD... now moderators can upload smilies without having a FTP access... moreover they can ban users, delete them... it's very useful!!!

No they can't delete users  but you can allow them if you remove this <!-- ..... --> in templates/xxxx/modpc/user_edit_body.tpl :)

No demo available cause you will have MOD rights :)

but here is a summary:
This control panel allows your moderators to have access to a fully moderator panel (a little admin)
- Added user_ban control for Mods (they couldn't ban ADMIN)
- Mods cannot edit ADMIN or others MODs profile
- Mods cannot delete users account (only disable account)
- Fixed online status for a more real online status (modcp/index.php)
- Added Username Color by default (modcp/index.php)
- Disable Database size stat for Mods (modcp/index.php)
MODs (by default) can:
o Disallow username
o Mass email
o Edit ranks
o Edit smilies
o Ban users (unabled to ban ADMIN)
o Edit users profile (unabled to edit ADMIN or others MODs)
o Words censor
o ... and evevrything you want (not forum permissions otherwise you have a second admin lol)
instead of the Super Moderator or the Junior Admin, with the ModCP your moderators can't ban you (ADMIN) or edit your account
ADMIN is protected against mess made by moderators
-> you can add/remove modules, for example if you don't want your moderators can edit users profile, remove in modcp dir "admin_users.php" and its .tpl

Famitsu, is it possible to edit this mod so that it effect admins? We have a lot of admins on our board, and would like to be able to limit their power. Or is it possible to modify it so you can select which users this applies to? If not, could you recommend another Mod that will allow us to limit their power, and is 2.0.10 compatible? Possibly an integration of this and the User Level Mod?

Excellent mod! Really quick and easy to install, I've wanted it for a while now :)

cathal2004: If you don't want them to access one of the pages, you could just delete it from the /modcp directory. If you mean stop them from messing anything up, there isn't really much they could mess up and they can't change an admin's profile.

you are in the good move :)
i plan (about in 1-2 weeks) to implement a new level in the User Level Mod
This level will be higher to MOD and will have all forums permissions access
like an ADMIN without AdminCP
it's there the ModCP will be used, you will be able to replace the line in page_tail.php $userdata['user_level'] == MOD with XX_MOD such like a global moderator
a beta version is planned for next week-end, so wait a little

@ cathal2004 -> read .Wes. message
You (ADMIN) choose which file/page you want to allow for your moderators by deleting/adding files called admin_xxxx.php
By default, i added a lot of features but i'm sure some ADMIN would like to use one piece of the ModCP :)
However, all features are 100% secure, your moderators cannot edit Admin rights or ban him

I installed this mod and it works fine, but only if the moderator is using the subSilver theme :(

if they are using any other theme and then try to access the moderator control panel they get this error:
Template->make_filename(): Error - file does not exist

Is this a problem with my files (file missing etc), bug in the mod, not installed correctly?

Thanks in advance.

you need to make sure that for every style you have, you copy the .tpl files over.
these would be the admin_foo.tpl or whatever :)
