woohoo! this works! Your rock.. thankyou for all your help Famitsu!

Very Helpful!

But to save having to edit all of the new templates tpl files so that each template can have its own proper working Moderator CP are you able to make it so that when MOD CP link is clicked it shows the mod cp in the subsilver theme regardless of what theme the user is using?

This would save much time... and i am sure i have seen it done before.

Thanks.

i prefer to have the ModCP depends of each template with their own CSS

But i keep you request for a future new FAQ included in next release for how to edit your templates files other than subSilver (for christmas holidays ^^)

Yep you can or you must do this (for security issue)
just remove your directory super_mod or something like that and use the dir modcp

You have to edit includes/page_tail.php and modcp/pagestart.php
replace MOD with LESS_ADMIN (if i remembered right)
Anyway, new version of User Level will introduce a better level than Super Mod which will be able to moderate all forums like ADMIN
and of course 100% compliant with the ModCP :roll:

Just added this and it works great - thank you. Just one thing though - I'd rather the mods couldn't see hidden users but when they go to the mod cp, they are able to.

Is there something I can alter in the index.php of the modcp that will only let them see the unhidden users?

I finally got my Moderator Panel to work, but the panel itself doesn't show up. I get a following error where panel should be (left side)
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_ELSE in /hsphere/local/home/shaun690/dead-eternity.spworld.net/phpBB2/modcp/admin_ug_auth.php on line 339

Any idea what am I doing wrong?

2nd question, how can I get this Mod CP to work with my other templates? Other than SubSilver.

Newbie here :(

there are many ways

a simple, open modcp/index.php and find:

Code: Select all

if ( !$onlinerow_reg[$i]['user_allow_viewonline'] )
Replace with

Code: Select all

if ( !$onlinerow_reg[$i]['user_allow_viewonline'] && ( $userdata['user_level'] == ADMIN ) )

@ DemonCleaner -> You should use the package pre-edited for admin_ug_auth.php in the contrib/permissions directory
this file is secured instead of your original from admin dir ^^

i can't seem to get the modcp to work for me. the link doesnt appear in the footer, and when i try to access modcp/index.php it would redirect me. i think there are some permissions problems going on. can someone help?

Register with a test account, set his status as MOD (in your ACP)
then log on with this account, you will see the Moderator Control Panel link at the bottom :)

i don't know your mega-moderators
but if you read above i said: "with the User Level Mod you will be able to use a new level like global moderator instead of normal moderators"

An addon will be available in next release of the ModCP

oh ok. SuperModerators and Mega-Moderators are the same as Global Moderators just different names people use.

My "Global Moderator" (not the real name of my level) will have all forums permissions instead of Super or mega Moderators :D
