You might want to check to see if the Separate Announcements and Sticky mod is compatible with the Topic Cement Mod.

I just recently installed this mod, and it seems to work fine. However my Topic Cement Mod doesnt. I see that both mods edit the same line in the viewforum.php file, so that might be the reason why my Topic Cement mod isnt functioning properly.

Please let me know if I'm correct...

I have it working great with Topic Cement. See here:
http://x.otr-tnt.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=11

All 200 posts in this forum are prioritized with Topic Cement.

Hmmm, I see.

Okay, so which did you install first? I installed the Separate Mod first, and in the viewforum.php file it says:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
AND t.topic_type = " . POST_ANNOUNCE . "
ORDER BY t.topic_last_post_id DESC ";

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------
#
AND t.topic_type BETWEEN " . POST_STICKY . " AND " . POST_ANNOUNCE . "
ORDER BY t.topic_type DESC, t.topic_last_post_id DESC ";
and then when I got to the Topic Cement mod, it says:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
	ORDER BY t.topic_last_post_id DESC ";
#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
ORDER BY
#
#-----[ IN-LINE REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
ORDER BY t.topic_priority DESC,
then:

Code: Select all

#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
	ORDER BY t.topic_type DESC, t.topic_last_post_id DESC
#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
t.topic_type DESC
#
#-----[ IN-LINE AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
, t.topic_priority DESC
How did you end up editing the lines?

I did topic cement first. Here are some code snippets:

Code: Select all

		AND t.topic_type BETWEEN " . POST_STICKY . " AND " . POST_ANNOUNCE . "
	ORDER BY t.topic_priority DESC, t.topic_last_post_id DESC ";

Code: Select all

	ORDER BY t.topic_type DESC, t.topic_priority DESC, t.topic_last_post_id DESC
If you need more just yell!

*yell!* :)

Yeah, I'm seriously frustrated... I can't seem to get my topic cement mod to work. I copied the lines as exactly as you have it too. :T Any other lines I should take a look at?

I know you have done plenty of mods. If you missed any thing in the sql you should be getting errors.

The only thing that comes to mind is modcp.php. Compare yours to the topic cement instructs and see if it is not just a typo. I can give you mine if you need it.

But if you're not getting sql errors then that part is ok. And it is showing up so the .tpl is ok. Your viewforum sounds ok. Let's tear apart the modcp.php and see if it is there.

I used the original and it works fine. Is the only difference the support for Global Announcements?

OMG! OMG! OMG!

Thank you for making me check the modcp.php again! I realize that the

Code: Select all

default:
that I was adding that block of code before wasn't the right "default:". I realized that I was adding it in Username Color Mod section. DOH! *slaps forehead*

NOW the topic cement works (in conjunction with Separate Mod)!! Back to batting 1000 now. haha thanks, Bard!

New version supports the Global Announcements and orders topics in "Ann&Sticky" block by topic_type, that is.. first the Announcements and then the Sticky Topics...
Unfortunately I don't know if it's compatible with Topic Cement (I never tried this MOD) but it seems they can be applied together :wink:
Great work, Bard!

//Separate Announcements & Sticky
$lang['Announcements_and_Sticky'] = 'Announcements and Sticky Topics';
$lang['Global_Announcements'] = 'Global Announcements';

This is the right way of code for lang_main.php !!!

Also, HOW 'Global_Announcements' WORKS ??
I can't understand!

Whay do you mean? I can't understand your question...
it's just a definition of a string for GlobalAnn section... it works even if you don't have installed Global Announcements' MOD
