Give Standard Admin 'Sticky Topic' Ability

Post by GoleyC »

I've been trying to figure out how to give 'Standard Admin' the 'Sticky Topic' ability. I've went through all the admin screens and cannot find or figure out how to do this.

Has anyone else done this and if so, walk me through it?

You can set it under admin -> permissions -> forum permissions -> choose forums -> choose admin group -> can post sticky.

Stickifying a topic isn't an administrator permission, but a moderator one.

Go to group's forum permissions and select the admins' group (Administrators? Some other group made for this?) and select all forums, then add the appropriate permission.

You can also add him to the Global Moderator group, so he has the permission everywhere.

Groups permissions, Administrators, Select type Global Moderator permissions, Go, Advanced Permissions, Topic Actions, set to Yes the permissions you want admins to have and click submit.

That's my problem, I don't see that option there. The only options I have are these:

Can lock topics
Can merge topics
Can move topics
Can split topics

Does this need to be changed somewhere else?

Above the permissions part, there is a drop down box. Expand it and click Global Mod permissions and then Go. Set the permissions your admins are to have over the whole board.

Thanks for all the help, we have finally figured out how to set the permission properly for what we need.

There's was a small learning curve on the permission system!
