"The specified search backend doesn’t exist."

Post by hustleGRL » Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:15 pm

Hey guys,

My forum is located here --> http://allthings-fresh.net/forum/

Whenever users or I reply to a topic, it doesn't go to the re-directing page like it is supposed to and this comes up instead: "The specified search backend doesn’t exist." The replies/threads are still submitted but it confuses people and some create 2 topics. The same message comes up when I try to search something or delete a thread. I need help :(

ACP -> Search Settings -- "Search backend:" reads nothing at all. It's blank. There's a drop-down menu but there's no options for it.

Here's a screen cap.

Go to ACP -> Search Settings -- is there nothing in the drop down box?

Can you tell me what the problem was please?

I have seen this same problem on here a couple of times and I'm sure there are more than a few people would like to know how to resolve it.

Thanks,

Mix

In my "includes" folder, the "search" folder was missing. I guess I had accidently deleted it at some point. I noticed it when I tried to upgrade from 3.0.4 to 3.0.5; it said there was some missing files. At the end, I downloaded PHPBB again & re-upped the "search" folder and ta-da!
