Advise Needed

Hello Everyone:

I need some advice here, before I post something (additional) to the board.

I'm currently working on a standalone program that will allow the importing of posts into a forum via SQL statements. Basically the program will create SQL statements that you would then "execute" to get posts into your forum. I'm writing this program to get an old Yahoo board into my forum.

This is a sample of actual inserts of posts into a LOCALHOST board.

Where exactly can I post additional information concerning this program, so it can be properly reviewed and then utilized? The difficulty is that the program once packaged will most likely be larger than allowed by the phpbb software, so i would need to provide a download link from my site.

Your feedback is welcome.

P.S. - I hope to have this tested to my satisfaction by a week from today (16 Jan 10, 23:59 hours EST, USA), , including a basic manual for it's use (either on-line (HTML), or a PDF file). However, don't take this as an absolute "release" date.

Hey Man, just save the backup of your old board. Do it also as a CSV. Once done, let us know.

@ Moderators: no need to report this, I guess it is more a MOD Writers or Convertors related Topic than Support. IMHO.

I would imagine the Converters forum would be appropriate.

Actually, from what I have seen, a simple csv will not work, because multiple tables are involved.

Obviously, you need a converter that uses it.

Please do report it, even for something simple such as a move rather than putting it in the post. Makes things far more efficient.
