how to let moderators manage newly registered users group?

Post by PrinceWords » Mon Jan 25, 2010 4:21 am

Good morning :)
Well, I use some way to let certain known people only to be members in the forum, and I need a way to let moderators have the ability to approve users even if they still in the ( newly registered users ) group, and even if they don't have any posts awaiting approval ( as I set the number of posts for newly registered users to 1 )
so, how can I give the moderator the permission to delete or move user from (newly registered users) to (members)?

members of the "newly registered users" group will automatically be moved to the registered users groups after they hit the number of posts you set for that to happen.

Sure I know this! but as an admin I can approve them without their 1 post limit, by deleting them from (newly registered users) group...that exactly what I ask for...how I can give this ability to a moderator?

Make them group leader of the newly registered users group then they should be able to delete the users from the group through the Usergroups in the UCP ;)

Or give your moderators (e.g. the global moderator group) the Users and groups admin permission.

That is a tricky but effective solution! :) but moderators in newly registered users group?! won't this affect their moderation if I put them in this group? even without setting as default group.

I tried to do that minutes ago, but actually it doesn't work...or its not working when I do (Test this user permissons)?

Just tried this, it will never work, cause you need to set the moderators to have the (newly registered users) as their default group before making them a leader of it! so moderators will lose their rank and everything. :?

No. A person can be a group leader without that group being their default group. Rank and color come from the default group. This feature is precisely designed for your situation. That is why there are these options:
