How to make your BBcodes show up in POSTS

Post by MommEDM » Wed Jan 27, 2010 8:27 pm

I can't get my BBcodes to show up when you post. I am wondering how would I go about doing that?

Please verify ACP - GENERAL - Board features - Allow BBCode:
At least that should be set to "Yes".

what does that mean, you used a bbcode from here?

your board comes with the standard bbcodes and you can create new ones in the admin panel.

bbcode works in posts on your board, however, there are no bbcodes showing on the posting page.

did you remove some code from any of the posting html files.

No I haven't messed with the profile posting. It's been like that. I can't figure out why.

I meant I didn't have the bbcode on my posting page when someone posts.

I tested on your "Mom's forum"board signing on as user,"test" and password "testing". You are correct, the side panel does so show that "BBCode is on" when posting, but when I tried to use it (as for italics) in a post, the preview showed the code as typed and not the text in italic, so BBcodes don't appear to be working, just as you have stated. When I tested in the "Dad's forum," BBcodes work. The difference is that they have different style themes (the Dad's forum has one of the default styles and the Mom's forum has a custom style).

So, first, I would wonder if perhaps something in your custom style theme is causing this. Maybe you should first try selecting one of the default style themes (like subsilver2) to see if this still persists.

I have just confirmed it is a problem with that style.
I set the test user back to prosilver, and made this post:
http://www.groupsspot.com/momforum/view ... p?f=4&t=46

You should look for an updated version of that style.
Also, you are running version 3.0.5. You should update your board to 3.0.6.
