Need help BOLDING Username

Post by Brenakie »

Hi,

Looking for some help. I'm looking to BOLD the username under the Last Post column on the index.php and sub-pages. Which file(s) would I need to edit? I know one would be the viewforum_body.html page or are there others as well?

Would it be as simple as changing {L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} to <b>{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR}</b>?

Code: Select all

		<li class="row<!-- IF topicrow.S_ROW_COUNT is even --> bg1<!-- ELSE --> bg2<!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF topicrow.S_POST_ANNOUNCE --> announce<!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF topicrow.S_POST_STICKY --> sticky<!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF topicrow.S_TOPIC_REPORTED --> reported<!-- ENDIF -->">
			<dl class="icon" style="background-image: url({topicrow.TOPIC_FOLDER_IMG_SRC}); background-repeat: no-repeat;">
				<dt<!-- IF topicrow.TOPIC_ICON_IMG and S_TOPIC_ICONS --> style="background-image: url({T_ICONS_PATH}{topicrow.TOPIC_ICON_IMG}); background-repeat: no-repeat;"<!-- ENDIF --> title="{topicrow.TOPIC_FOLDER_IMG_ALT}"><!-- IF topicrow.S_UNREAD_TOPIC --><a href="{topicrow.U_NEWEST_POST}">{NEWEST_POST_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF --><a href="{topicrow.U_VIEW_TOPIC}" class="topictitle">{topicrow.TOPIC_TITLE}</a>
					<!-- IF topicrow.S_TOPIC_UNAPPROVED or topicrow.S_POSTS_UNAPPROVED --><a href="{topicrow.U_MCP_QUEUE}">{topicrow.UNAPPROVED_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF -->
					<!-- IF topicrow.S_TOPIC_REPORTED --><a href="{topicrow.U_MCP_REPORT}">{REPORTED_IMG}</a><!-- ENDIF --><br />
					<!-- IF topicrow.PAGINATION --><strong class="pagination"><span>{topicrow.PAGINATION}</span></strong><!-- ENDIF -->
					<!-- IF topicrow.ATTACH_ICON_IMG -->{topicrow.ATTACH_ICON_IMG} <!-- ENDIF -->{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} {topicrow.TOPIC_AUTHOR_FULL} &raquo; {topicrow.FIRST_POST_TIME}
				</dt>
				<dd class="posts">{topicrow.REPLIES} <dfn>{L_REPLIES}</dfn></dd>
				<dd class="views">{topicrow.VIEWS} <dfn>{L_VIEWS}</dfn></dd>
				<dd class="lastpost"><span><dfn>{L_LAST_POST} </dfn>{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} {topicrow.LAST_POST_AUTHOR_FULL}
					<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT --><a href="{topicrow.U_LAST_POST}">{LAST_POST_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF --><br />{topicrow.LAST_POST_TIME}</span>
				</dd>
			</dl>
		</li>
Thanks,

The list of forums in the index page is in forumlist_body.html.

It would simply be a matter of changing:

Code: Select all

{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} {forumrow.LAST_POSTER_FULL}
To:

Code: Select all

{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} <strong>{forumrow.LAST_POSTER_FULL}</strong>

Protech

this is what I added

Code: Select all

<!-- IF forumrow.LAST_POST_TIME --><dfn>{L_LAST_POST}</dfn> {L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} <strong>{forumrow.LAST_POSTER_FULL}</strong>
Pushed it up, refreshed via ACP and browser and no change, no bold.

how did you edit the files? did you do it in the admin panel? if so then you have to download the file and edit it in a real text editor and upload it back using ftp.

Ah, right. In content.css, find:

Code: Select all

li.row strong {
	font-weight: normal;
	color: #000000;
}
After, add:

Code: Select all

li.row dd strong {
	font-weight: bold;
}

Protech,

That worked like a charm. How do I carry it down a level (viewforum.php)?

Thanks again,

Pretty much the same thing but in viewforum_body.html.

Code: Select all

{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} {topicrow.LAST_POST_AUTHOR_FULL}
To:

Code: Select all

{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} <strong>{topicrow.LAST_POST_AUTHOR_FULL}</strong>

Lumpy,

This should be the same of I wanted to bold the author on the viewforum_body.html page

Code: Select all

<!-- IF topicrow.ATTACH_ICON_IMG -->{topicrow.ATTACH_ICON_IMG} <!-- ENDIF -->{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} <strong>{topicrow.TOPIC_AUTHOR_FULL}</strong> {L_POSTED_ON_DATE} {topicrow.FIRST_POST_TIME}
I shouldn't have to mess w/ the .css file?

Replace:

Code: Select all

li.row strong {
	font-weight: normal;
	color: #000000;
}
li.row dd strong {
	font-weight: bold;
}
With:

Code: Select all

strong.moderators {
	color: #000000;
	font-weight: normal;
}
In forumlist_body.html, find:

Code: Select all

<strong>{forumrow.L_MODERATOR_STR}
Replace with:

Code: Select all

<strong class="moderators">{forumrow.L_MODERATOR_STR}
That should stop the problem altogether.
