You have used an editor on file /language/en/acp/common.php that has inserted what is known as a BOM. Use a strict text editor like notepad++ and set the formatting options to convert the file to UTF-8 without BOM.

Look in the contrib folder of the downloaded mod and do the edits.

Within the contrib directory are instructions to get it to show new topics that have been posted.

Open the folder that you have mchat in. Should then see as in picture 1

At the top of that picture you'll see the contrib folder. Open it. See picture 2.

Open the highlighted file in your browser and do the edits.

it will look like this and the link to it can be found in the main install file (if using Automod in the "Details" after installing the mod will be contributions to the mod).

I installed this on a phpBB3 forum with a prosilver2 based template.

Most everything seems to work fine, except the chat window expands infinitely instead of only keeping the last few messages, and it doesn't scroll.

This causes the chat to get very big until I refresh the page. When I refresh the page the chat message window is smaller again.

Can you help?

Need a link to your forum to see why that may be happening.

Hi,
Just added the 'Notifications of New Topics'
Although the instructions for Mchat.php had me thinking for a while, I'm pleased to say that all went well and the Topics add on is a great success.

Thanks
