You can set up the auto post in the Mods section. You should see "Post Bot" under your mods tab.
The rest is really simple, just type in what you would like to announce/post to the new members and save it. Make sure you select a user that will be your poster.

Settings:
Make sure you enable what you would like the post bot to post up.
Then go ahead and edit the post topics below "settings" to fit what you would like to say.

I think I got it working. I had my son register and it did post this time. However, it posted not his user name but Anonymous as the topic title and such.

I do have the user name set as "Welcome { USERNAME }!" (minus the spaces between the brackets and username) and the same in the welcome post itself.

Any thoughts or ideas?

In your forums Administration Control Panel
Click image to view;

Then, on the left you should see this

Click on any of these and edit them to what ever you like

Svorpyx, its quiet possible you need to check your file edits as it can be easy to omit one. Check all the edits to see if they are there.
I suspect you ran the installer after doing the file edits?

I suspect some of the edits didn’t take, look in automod to see which files are not yet added. I don’t use automod as I prefer to do it manually.
