I don't get the 'clone feed' idea :?:

@Patti2010,

I don't have phpmyadmin and I don't need this to manage my database.
Does other mod users using phpmyadmin and get errors to create the tables? Please help to verify his issue.

Nevermind :)

I have another question now:

- I've tried various settings for my feed with regards to how many characters it displays but it doesn't seem to be honouring what I configure.

- Also, when will blog images and url's display correctly within phpbb.

Apologies if this has already been asked.

Thanks

I'll check this in my test version first. May be I have to release v0.3r2 before going RC.

You mean the feed posting feature?

For RSS, most of commonly used xml tags is supported right now, but limited support for Atom. I have no plan to do more on Atom support in the mean time, may be after this mod became offical :?:

Does this mod support secured feeds that needs a username and a password to be read?

Ok that would be great as I can't implement it LIVE until this works..

Maybe you can post procedure about the 'unlock', for some Altervista mod users having problems in the past. :)

If the username and password is embedded into url, this mod may work. You have to check rss_import.php for the parameter filter code for sure.

If you have to type the username and password into a login page, I'm sure this doesn't work (at least in current code, and I don't have plan to support this).

I have the mod installed and working fine on my board, but I'm unclear in how to automate the process of importing feeds on a Windows system. Could you please clarify for this noob? :D

If my memory is good, you can use system scheduler (the at command)starting from NT. You have to create a .bat or .cmd file with text editor with something like this:

Code: Select all

echo off
curl -Ss http://localhost/rss_import.php?feed=1,2,...,998,999
replace 'curl -Ss' with 'GET' if you only have system perl.

All my daily used computers have Linux after Windows 2000 released, you have to google for setting up the windows scheduler for detailed instructions.

Thank you, I think we may need to go a step back.

Entering "http://localhost/rss_import.php?feed=1" (or using my domain address instead of localhost) into my browser does nothing, should I see a response? No additional posts are added to my forum - except when manually using the 'Import Now' function via the ACP.

Thanks, I have, many times.

I get to:
2. Type GET http://your.domain.tld/your-phpbb-path/ ... php?feed=n to verify the required feed works.

And it doesn't work, I tested this url using my browser with a blank page returned and no update carried out. I assume it should execute using a browser?

I guess I'll have to pass on this until it's simplified.
