Do you guys have any kind of specific rules for this? Such as start/end dates to qualify for the prizes?

And what are the qualifications to win? Is it based on a rating system or just a random drawing?

Start: immediate
End: August 9th (tentatively so we have enough time to select the winners before Libertyvasion)

We will judge the MOD submissions based on speed of submission, speed of approval, and, most importantly, quality.

If all goes well with this we could have regular seasons of MOD Idol!

WYSIWYG Posting MOD
A what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor for creating posts, topics and private messages. This MOD should be visually appealing and allow full functionality for existing bbCode and options for custom bbCodes.

I think there is a "Thank You" MOD, but the MOD listed in the announcement has an emphasis on post and topic ratings. How the MOD author chooses to tie that in with thanking the poster is up to them... for instance the MOD could look at total ratings? average rating? a weighting towards topic ratings over individual post ratings? However the MOD author wants to go about doing it, we look forward to seeing the end result. :)

Well, the whole "here's a list of MODs we'd like to see, please make them" idea has been done before, but this is the first time they've thrown in prizes.

Subject Prefixes
A MOD that allows users to easily give topics a subject prefix. This may be through a dropdown menu, radio boxes, a custom text input field, etc where a user can select the appropriate option and have it appended to the front of the topic title.
This one's right up my alley. Time to get to work!

What about the ones that are already in the MODDB but may also be in the queue waiting to be validated (or updated by the mod author as the case maybe)?

I would like a phpBB t-shirt with the logo shown on a beer bottle. :)

I would vote to see something like that, since Almsamim editor was dropped I still use it, cause it was the best and the most simple, pity there is no more updates to it, wish he back to join this contest. :)
