Do not worry about it, NiceSimple support child theme and you can create a variety of different styles, of course can be look like IPB or any skins you want.

Of course NiceSimple will support all phpBB version with package for 3.0, 3.1, 4.0 ..etc... if many people love it

To do so, I suggest you start build up a team ... Where will help you in:
1- Continues development
2- Support users
3- Enhance NS with modifications
4- Help in applying phpBB3 mods with NS
5- Creating CHILD themes
6- Add other languages support
7- Making sure NS will live for ever

Well I am using phpbb3 for almost 3 years... i can opt for support users

I am currently building UCP/MCP components and jQuery functions, i'm not know much about jQuery should take a long time.
Compatibility with IE6 is also important issue, however you can rest assured that this style works very well on popular browsers (IE6+, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera...)
I also ensure that the optimal level of server resources and speed load is very good on NS by using optimization techniques CSS, images, code...

Why you are still supporting ie6 in your design when everyone else is dropping it? It's really old browser that should be dead by now.

Of course, no designer wants to support IE6, but can not deny that IE6 still large users in developing countries, including my Vietnam. So what reason I do not do it for my country?
