Everything seems to be dead, including the demo board etc. Any way of getting the MOD online? I'd like to download it. Thank you.

Yes, posts stay in the topic. And there is a wrong information about the last message in the topiclist if I delete last post (not permanently)... :(

AleksAnders wrote:In the topic list there is always the date and a link to the last post. But if the last post is deleted, the forum still shows information about the deleted message (date, author) and the topic is not marked as read (of course if you do not delete the message permanently).. :(

Can you tell me please how to make that the information about the last post would be taken from the last existing post in the topic, but not deleted?

Thanks.

That should have been fixed awhile ago. I just installed the MOD on a fresh board using AutoMOD. I tried various combination of fake-deleting the last post, and the LAST POST information shown on the forum list was always updated, correctly showing information about the most recent non-fake-deleted post.

How hard would it be to have an option to take deleted posts and split them into the trash bin forum? That would be great as an option, and I would prefer that function over the current method (just for archival purposes).

I know a few people have requested this feature, but unfortunately I currently have no plans to add new features to this MOD. I am unsure how difficult it would be, though the board has the ability to split posts out into a new topic so theoretically it should be possible to implement without adding a whole lot of new code. I just don't really want to spend my free time doing that.

Open includes/prime_trash_bin.php and find this line:

Code: Select all

define('MINIMIZE_DELETED_POST', true);        // Show the bare minimum? (Otherwise, show everything but the actual message.)
Change true to false.

Hello Primehalo!
When your great mod will work with the standard auto-pruning feature of the forum? ;)

It should, as fake-deleted topics and posts are still just topics and posts, but then I've never actually tested the auto-prune feature.

I just had a strange issue popup. When I delete a post, the full content of the post still shows in the viewtopic. But, after deletion when using the MCP, it shows the what is expected.....the undelete, view deleted, etc...... If I delete the post view viewtopic again, then it permanently deletes it as expected. So, everything is working except it is not showing the post correctly, when using the "fake" delete, in the viewtopic component. But, everywhere else it shows correctly. I have checked the edits and they look ok, not sure what is going on. Any help would be most appreciated.......TIA

I would suggest re-checking the edits dealing with viewtopic once again, both the PHP edits and the template edits. Make sure you cleared the cached and refreshed the templates.

In order to do anything else, I'd need a login to your forum so I could try it out myself.

Users are still able to post new posts, after the deletion of a topic, by using the native quick replay.

Your MOD is very good, but i have some troubles.
After install MOD and using 'db_install.php' I had the old problem that has been discussed already in this forum. [...]

Permissions --> Permission Roles --> Moderator Roles There i can change if moderators can delete posts completely and if they are able to "undelete" posts or topics. But when i came to this window these options are always at "no", although i change them to "yes".
If I turn: "Can postings delete completely" to "yes" and submit this option, i got this error:

Code: Select all

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Duplicate entry '11-0' for key 1 [1062]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb3_acl_roles_data (role_id, auth_option_id, auth_setting) VALUES (11, 32, 1), (11, 34, 1), (11, 0, 1), (11, 35, 1), (11, 40, 1), (11, 0, 1), (11, 31, 1)

[...]
please help solve this problem ... :(
I have been facing exactly the same problem for last few hours.
The solution is to delete cache of acl_roles_data table (it is stored on disk).

The problem is that after installation of this mod, cache does not hold information about new ACL Options (undelete/permanent delete) which are coming from permissions form. The phpBB logic cannot pair names of those options with database entries and is setting its id to "0" - 3rd and 6th row in your query.

When deleting cache make sure that you made it right. On my heavy loaded environment it was impossible to do it without stopping httpd service. This forum says, that acl cache is refreshed with every permission change, user registration and under few other circumstances, but for some reason only manual file deletion purged the cache. :?

primehalo - thanks for this mod! :)
