Slow loading forums or cant load at all

hello i have a person who is telling me my phpbb3 board loads very slowly for them, its still a bare board so if its this slow for them now it will be much worse when i add things even if the files are compressed so is there anyway to make it run faster so they can lod it easier? im going to assume this is due to permissions loading slowly. theres a selected few ppl who ive allowed into a special forum & they seem to have issue when clicking from the index page directly on the sub-forum. they say it wont load at all or load very painfully slow. plz help this?

loading times dont rely on permissions, it however does depend on ammounts of mods extra sqlquerries and the server envirment you are located in

if all other people have nice and fast connection the person self should check his her pc for malware

we have no way of knowing what might be causing this if you don't give us a link to the board and if possible , to the exact post or topic that is having the problems.

lumpy i dont feel that comfortable posting my site all over the place whenever something is needed, it keeps spam minimal. i can provide screenshot if needed but in this spacific topic i dont need to give one as what my ppl are saying to me a sccreenshots not nessicar nor am i personally eperiancing it so i can not provide one myself.

carlo ive had more than one person state they can not load the forums at all or went so slowly they gave up. however the wierd thing is it worked just fine for me as owner/admin of the site. i do not understand the cause, but after a few days i recieved posts in the forums stating the error was over, resolved its self, after a few days had passed. since non of us have a clue as to what that was, even though its working now, id like for my own sake of knowing what can possibly do that if anyone wishes to name off things i can look into?

i do not have any mods installed yet or tons of sql i have a mostly bare basic board aside from a few images next to the forum/sub-forum links. from what i can guess at there shouldnt be anything on my actual site its self that did that unless just guessing at it my zymic server was having issues i didnt realize were happening as i did not recieve any notice that they were? or is it possible bots slowed it down possible standard security whatever?

Free hosts periodically, and for some often, have slow periods, either because of throttling (they deliberately slow it down) or because of high server load.

There's not much you can do about it except to keep your board as slim as possible. Most MODs will increase the the load on the board and therefore slow loading times. 1 or 2 MODs may make no noticeable difference but adding a pile of MODs will.
