Just for example:
You write a long post (a really really long post,put a great deal of though into it) it takes you a long time to finish your post. once your done you hit submit and the board logs you out (session times out).
The odds of that happening are slim ,but still it happens.wouldnt it be better if posts can be saved?Small posts can be ignored,perhaps set a word limit before it starts saving....
Maybe add the enable/disable option via user control panel/acp
