urgh, ok, I didn't realise that your new release was only days away. i guess I'll wait and try again.

how stable will this new release be though, considering you're developing it so quickly?

I have been developing it over the last couple of months on a real live forum used by gamers which didnt realize that I was developing on the fly. Never had any complaints. The jQuery stuff really is easy though which was done in a day and a half.

Question: where do I have to put the SQL code exactly?

Do I have to use a MySQL program for this? Never worked with SQL for mods so far...

Thanx.

Hi, what about to release one more MOD which would contain ONLY facebook registration, login and copying info from FB profile to phpbb profile.

When the release of the updated fb4phpbb mod you will be able to switch of parts of the mod from the admin control panel.

Sorry it's taking so long to release the beta. I want to make the mod run smooth plus I am still adding a few features which took longer than expected to clean up.

You can spoil the surprise and see the mod development in development on http://www.damienkeitel.com.
ETA. About 2 days or so.

I know but people dont like big overfeatured MODs. There is no working FB registration MOD for phpbb, so I think you could fill the hole on the market with just removing all other features and releasing it :)

I'm sure a few days wont hurt. I'd rather have users go into admin and turn features off than request to add those features already requested which means making contribs, updates and unnecessary code changes later.
I want to do it right and not rush it. The few features I'm adding to it are requests already asked within this thread.

How do you know people don't like over featured mods. Please reference your research into that statement.

Myself personally. I'd rather install one mod than 5 mods which do separate things but use the same API.

Mod progress: 60%

Feature progress:
  • Login/registration 90% - backend files need a little tweaking
  • Page like button 60%
  • Facebook Page Wall 30% - its there. Needs alot of work. Next feature to work on in list.
  • Comments on each post 100% - upgraded to html 5
  • Like on each post 100% - Upgraded to html 5
  • fb4phpbb name change & svn 10% - work in progress
  • Admin backend and feature switchs 70% - still a few to add.
  • New feature 1 85% - currently tweaking and testing.
  • New feature 2 0% - still procrastinating whether or not to add it.

There will be option to disable "Comments on each post" ?

Can you explain what will do "fb4phpbb name change" ?

In the ACP currently there is already an option to disable comments on each post.

the name change is from the prefix fb2011 to fb4phpbb. This means all variables, database prefixs, pages and switchs have been renamed to use this name instead of fb2011
