E-mail notifications

Hello,

As admin on my forum I get and e-mail if:
- I send myself an e-mail through the board UI.
- Also ACP mass mailing works.

But I don't receive e-mail, and I would like to:
- When someone opens a new topic
- When I send myself a private message

Where am I supposed to look to set that ?

Would this be any help:
[RC] Prime Notify

For the PMs, you can go into your UCP > Board Preferences > Edit Global Settings
and enable "Notify me on new private messages:".

Hello,

Thank you but what I'm looking for is not a mod.
One of my (mod free) phpBB send me an e-mail when a new topic is created, the other one doesn't.
There should be a way to set the second one to act as the first one does.

Regarding the private message :
- 'Notify me on new private messages' already enable but it seems ineffective.
- And I would like it to be enabled by default if there's an option.

You can subscribe to forums to receive notifications when new topics are started.

ACP>Board Features - Allow subscribing to forums y/n

Check the forum permissions for each forum you want to do this for and there should be a link on each forum page to subscribe to it (at the bottom on prosilver).

Thank you. That's a better solution for now.
But on my other forum I don't remember at all having to register to forums or managing forum permissions for admin notifications.

There is no inbuilt setting for that and I'm not aware of any MOD that would do that either because it is considered that if you send yourself a message you would already know about it so there would be no need for a notification.

If you want to be automatically subscribed to topics in which you have posted there is a setting for that
User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit posting defaults > Notify me upon replies by default
Set that to Yes

phpBB, by default, doesn't send notifications for new posts because many people may consider that to be spam. Therefore, there are options for individual members to choose.

About PMs, ok, I've tried with 2 different accounts and it works. I'm just surprised that phpBB takes 'self-PM-ing' into account.

I agree about users, but I almost sure that there was at least some time ago an option to notify an administrator when a topic is created. I remember that because in the past I did not want that and my phpBB was doing it.
