Plenty use it.
The value of 'SEO friendly' URLs is highly debatable.

If you do decide to use it, all future support has to be sought from the place you got it, not from us.

A client of mine uses it (and therefore: i use it). IMO: it kind off.. sucks. It uses more resources, makes modding and updating harder and you'll be stuck to it for the rest of your forum lifetime since it rewrites all the urls. The benefit is very minimal; it's just user-friendly because you can see what's behind a link like example.com/keyword/interesting_page while you can't see what's behind a link like example.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3.

Why did not you agree ? :)

If you experience any trouble I doubt that this is directly related to the regular install ;)

I install it on other forums (Premod / url Ultimate Seo) and to date I have no negative feedback about it!

I also want to talk about it, I find it unfortunate that a fix is not proposed for STK !

I believe strongly that phpBB does not like Premod Seo, why ? I do not know ! :|

And for the return contredir above, it does not consume more resources than that ! ;)

It was horrific to set up, and has conflicted with every modification I have tried to install since :-)

There is an easy answer for that. The Support Toolkit is build, tested and works on a vanilla installation so with that there must be a change in the preMOD that breaks the toolkit. As we do not support preMODs we do not develop the toolkit to work with preMODs because that would mean that we need to take in account every preMOD with its own quirks. Yes there are some exceptions in the toolkit to account for certain MODs but those changes have been contributed by the MOD authors and where merged into the core as they didn't cause any problems with the workings of the toolkit itself.
A preMOD author is free to do the same thing but you can't expect us to develop a tool that takes in account a system that isn't supported by us in the first place.

SEO is a scam. Stick to web standards, produce relevant content. Enough said.

I used the premod once and I didn't like it at all. Sorry.
Please note that I will not be porting any of my mods to phpBB 3.1. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Better said like so:
SEO is not a scam... but search engines don't have any need of pretty urls.
There for it's not even SEO.

When I read I have a feeling that your forums are based only on the flood, from there I understand your opinion on Premod !

Except to say "This sucks" or "It is useless" yet he must know how to use it and the beginning of a good SEO.

The English make fun of referencing (in general)

The ones who don't like the preMOD have provided arguments on to WHY they (we) don't. You haven't said anything really besides that "it works" and "you haven't had any problems with it". Since both of those go for the standard phpBB package as well, why should anyone bother with a preMOD?
