hello, about the GNU Public License

Post by cybernet2u » Fri Jan 11, 2013 6:16 pm

i would like to use a part, or parts of phpBB code into a personal project
i saw that the copyright allows me to do so ( hopefully i'm not wrong )

but i opened this topic to inform phpBB to update the link to the copyright, in some pages is not specified GPL v2 or v3

in case i'm wrong please say so

thanks in advance ;)

It is GPLv2. See section 8 of docs/README.html

Copyright statements in all source files in the next major version will specify GPL v2.

We did not make this change in 3.0.x maintenance releases because it is a lot of changed lines to go through and most board owners don't care.
