By the way, it would be nice if the send comment box would load automatically with refreshing the page - same with submitting and editing the comment :S

No. but its possible to define number of comments inside posts.

lots of ! First of all quoting a post means sending another one and you can't see original quoted post. In my MOD there are some additional features like pm notification ( And probably recent user comments in profile).
I don't see any harm in having this MOD for phpBB specially when other forum softwares (vbulletin5) have this kind of comment systems as their default feature.

Although I do agree about an ajax-like functionality instead of a entire page reload.
