installed language pack but...

I've uploaded the french language pack but the forum still won't convert over to french.

I go to admin panel.... board settings... but default language remains british english AND I can't change it. It doesn't see the uploaded language.

What am I missing?

I have not installed any new styles yet... it's still the default that comes with the install

sorry I thought I deleted the english folder. (I thought I could force it to use french)

For French to work, that /fr directory has to be there. It isn't.
You must have uploaded it to the wrong place.
