[ABD]phpBB to WP connector 1.5.0

Post by Danielx64 »

This mod is based on [ABD][BRIDGE] phpBB & WordPress

Modification Name: phpBB to WP connector
Author: Danielx64

Modification Description: Integration between phpBB3 and Wordpress
Modification Version: 1.5.0

Requirements:
  • phpBB 3.0.12 & 3.0.11
  • Wordpress 3.7.1 & 3.8.0
  • php 5
Features:
  • Uses phpBB as users database
  • Uses phpbb styles (Prosilver)
  • No need to install a wordpress plugin, everything is now taken care of via theme.
  • You can direct users to your forum's ucp when they attempt to go to wp-admin (Admins can still access wordpress's dashboard) (please note that this is not working right now and it may be removed later on)
  • Now have cross posting, you can enter the forum ID where you want to post to in the option page.
  • All login/logout/register is taken care of by phpBB and not wordpress.
  • Use phpBB as the comment platform, much like phpbb.com
  • Now has featured image
  • Now provide links to topic and reply to blog topic in wordpress.
  • NEW: There is now a themeless version for those who want to use their own WordPress theme. You can download it from https://wordpress.org/plugins/phpbb-to-wp-connector/

No need to - the mod rules states that someone can take over a abandoned mod plus it is under GPL so forking is permitted.
Please note that I will not be porting any of my mods to phpBB 3.1. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Ok screen shots added and I added 2 new features

- Blog post author PM icon
- Quote button, so you can now quote someone

improvement
- Plugin now live in it own folder instead of /wp-content/plugins/
- All logins go in via phpBB (please note that that may change as while you get logged out of phpBB, you don't
get logged out of WordPress fully
Please note that I will not be porting any of my mods to phpBB 3.1. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Ok I have rewritten the option page so that it is part of the theme and you no longer need to install a plug-in. Adding to that the option page is much safer.

Works fine, just installed it and everything seems to work - only need to make a few beauty fixes.

There is a bug at your newest version, when logging in, its not possible as an author to do new postings, you always get redirected to the ucp.php of the forum

That something that I am still trying to sort out - it is done so that registered users who are not admin get taken to the user control panel.

Re: [BETA] phpBB to WordPress bridge

Post by Danielx64 »

Hello all,

I have uploaded a package that can be used for testing. I have also included details on how to install the WordPress and phpBB part. As always before you do anything, backup your database and files for both your phpBB and WordPress install.

All feedback and comments are welcomed :)

Ok I have just uploaded a demo site, please note that it may be slow at times because it's on a free webhost so the server will be slow at times.

Link in first topic
