No such thing as SEO friendly URLs. Did you mean human readable?

Just in case you missed it, phpBB has a Search feature where you could type SEO friendly URLs and get lots of results. One good topic is the SEF/SEO URLs one. There is also a phpBB SEO pre-mod that includes user-friendly URLs.

You could also search for Facebook login and find numerous results, including possible MODs to use.

Note too that if you install this pre-mod, we do not support it here so you will have to get all future support from that site.

SEO friendly urls is worth 0,01% of good SEO. Content is 95%.* Why are so many people focused on these stupid url things?

*)For the nutpickers here: these numbers aren't taken from research, simply rough indications based on experience.
My extensions:
Simple CMS, Feed post bot, Avatar Resize, Modbreak, Magic OGP, Live topic update, Modern Quote, Quoted Where (GDPR) and Autoresponder.
Newest: FAQ manager for 3.2

Can you provide proof that that make a significant difference? I've yet to see this proved. Also, I'm glad you agree they're stupid. ;)

As Tabitha said, making claims like that with no evidence and no apparent background (you've been here what, three days?) is useless.

Also, did you bother reading the topic that I linked you to? I posted a very simple reader-friendly URL format there that I suspect could be implemented in less than a day. It wouldn't be typist-friendly, but I'm not worried about that. (There's was also a "phase 2" that would basically search for posts which would make URLs easier to type.)

Seems to me you don't know much about SEO...

The URL is very important, its one of the many factors that search engines use to find keyword related searches.

Try going to Matt Cutts page and learn a thing or two ;)

I never claimed to be an expert, and the bash was unnecessary. Please keep things civil and respectful.

However, if URLs are so important, than why do the search engines have no problem indexing phpBB.com? Also, before coming back with "phpBB.com is poplular", have a look at a google search I did on my old username - my website is currently listed number 4. ;)

I don't think that's what he's claiming Matt Cutts said. I think he's claiming the Matt said that

http://www.example.com/how-to-make-seo-friendly-urls

is better than

http://www.example.com/viewtopic_12345.html

And it probably is. The question is how important it is. abcEzy claims that it's "very important", but doesn't provide any proof. I, too, would like to see a link to Matt's blog saying how important it is.

I tried searching on Matt Cutts SEO-friendly URLs, Matt Cutts SEO URLs and even SEO URLs site:mattcutts.com and didn't find any proof in the first page of each search.

Okay, where does he say that then?

I cannot think of any reason why a modern web crawler would treat those two URLs differently.

abcEzy, I'd appreciate some clarification of your above claim.
