What about using the notifications system of phpBB 3.1, instead of sending a PM?

Except from that, I'm looking forward to use this extension!

Yeah, I was actually planning on doing that (I'll update my original post). Thanks for the feedback!

No. I wish I could figure out how to do it, but every time I tried, I failed horribly. If someone wants to implement it, I'll be more than happy to credit them (this goes for the 3.0 MOD that was released also).

about the attachments it's not easy because currently it's not possible to use the phpbb_attachments table (the table is designed to only handle post or pm. It should be possible to change that but a lot of things have to be checked and certainly updated, so i'm not sure that it could be done for 3.1)

Which is why I was having trouble. I saw no feasible way to accomplish attachments without breaking the current structure.

some use a new table, it works but... we don't have the choice if we want to keep something not too difficult to install and update.
I think that we can assume that it will be changed at least for the 4.0. Meanwhile, there is a ticket for this on the tracker? If not you should create one^^

No ticket, because like I said, I wasn't too concerned about it. I'll create one as well as an RFC to gather thoughts later tonight or tomorrow.

Having just had a look at the 3.0.12 mod version can I make a couple of suggestions for the extension (which you may already have taken into account)

- If a user can only access the KB when they are logged in then there seems little point showing the KB on the menu until logged in - unless there is an intention to allow guests to access some of the KB.

- Once logged in then it shows the number of items in the KB alongside the menu item but when using the drop down selectors there is no indication as to which category the KB items are in - a similar indicator against each category would be helpful.

Guests can read KB articles. If there is interest in this being a permission, let me know. :D

The intention was to indicate how many disapproved articles there are (you'll notice it only shows for moderators with the appropriate permissions). I don't see a reason to show how many approved articles there are. Denied articles by definition should not need to be approved or disapproved (however I did build those options in). I could probably show how many disapproved and how many denied articles there are. I do plan on sending notifications to moderators when there are disapproved articles (submitted and set as disapproved).

To give added flexibility (and to avoid later requests) I think that guest permissions would be beneficial.

Repository link has been added. The only thing missing is the ability to delete categories in the ACP. Other than that, have a go at it. :D
