Post by rfdy »

RFDY RFDY area51

Extension Description:

phpBB Trader extension is inspired by vBulletin iTrader plugin http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=102965. This extension is designed to be used on Buy/Sell forums with the goal of obtaining and providing buyer and seller reviews.

Extension Version:

Forum Posts:
  • View a post in a Buy/Sell/Trade forum. The OP has a Rate Seller button.
  • Each user has a BST Feedback field on their post (which carries a percentage of
positive feedback) (Only when logged in)
  • We may also want to show feedback score (+1, -1, 0 added to the score ONLY when a user is
giving feedback to another user for the first time)
Submit Feedback page:
  • A dropdown specifying who you are (Buyer, Seller, or Trader)
  • A dropdown specifying your experience (+1 positive, 0 neutral, -1 negative)

  • List (paginated): Rating Summary (contains short comment, edit feedback link (for creators, only 5-10mins),
  • Report feedback link (visible only to recipient), from user [and their feedback score], and date
    - Can be filtered by (All Feedback Received, From Buyers, From Sellers, From Trades, Left for Others)
    - Left for Others filter is same thing, but instead the user displayed is the user they sent the feedback to
  • User who creates feedback can edit/delete within 5-10mins
  • Mods/Admins can see deleted feedback (just have a "activated" flag and hide it from all other users
    upon deletion)
  • Upon deletion (from either user or mod), prompt to give a reason for deletion and save it.

Here's an early screenshot of what it's going to look like.
Trader feedback can only be initiated via the original topic posted. Once a feedback is given the receiver can then give feedback back, such that there is only one pair of feedback for every user pair by topic.

See attached file.

Looks great so far! :D

Requests:
1/ Add to the 'Notifications' when somebody receives a rating/edited rating?

2/ In the 'Forum' ACP, add the ability to choose what type of trading is allowed and remove the choice on the posting screen. So instead of the following in the ACP:
Enable Trader: YES / NO
Whether or not posts in this forum can be rated by others.
Have:
Enable Trader: Radio button:Buying | Radio button:Selling | Radio button:Trading

I think that would be better as I think most trading sites these days will have specific forums such as : FOR SALE | WANTED | TRADES etc. So there's no need to allow a choice at the posting screen as if somebody posts in the WANTED section, they may choose the incorrect setting on the posting screen (Selling for example)
Whether or not posts in this forum can be rated by others.

Thank you!

We were trying to clone the functionality of vBulletin plugin, which has these choices. On our forum we allow the person to pick the type of trade they want to do in the same forum, which was the guiding reason behind doing things this way. This said, the suggestion makes a lot of sense, and we will see if it will be possible to have both what we need for our forum and to allow this as well.

That would be superb thank you. It's just that I (And I'm guessing others who have specific WANTED/FOR SALE forums) probably wouldn't be able to use it 'As is', or at least would have to do some modification to the code.

Keep up the good work. 8-)
