Fresh install

Ive did a fresh install of 3.1 RC2 but when i fill in my database i says all ok but when i click continue it get a white page.

delete everything and download a new copy and start over.

what are you using to download and upload the files?

are you unzipping the files on your computer before you upload them?

Yes unzipping on pc like i did with old phpbb uploading with filezila like i Always did

ok, I am running a test install.
just so we are on the same page.
where are you downloading the zip file from?
are you downloading the zip or the bz2 file?
are you uploading the whole phpbb3 directory at once?

what database type are you using?

what php version is on your server?

ok, just downloaded a fresh copy from the area51 download page ( zip file )
unzipped on my computer
uploaded the phpBB3 folder all at once, using filezilla
ran the install and it went without a hitch.

that means there is something wrong with either what you are doing, how you are doing it or where you are doing it.

double check everything again and try it again.

im using mysql database and its php 5.4 on my server

PHP 5.4 included
MySQL databases unlimited

A blank page usually indicates a suppressed error. Try this:
Open: /install/index.php
Find:

Code: Select all

define('IN_INSTALL', true);

After, add:

define('DEBUG', true);

Also, what database connection are you using? MySQL or MySQLi?

Well i cant find that type of tekst in index.php

im using MySQL or MySQLi with extinxtion. And trying with MySQL is also not working.

Are you looking in the right file? It's in /install/index.php, not /index.php. It's on line 22.
