I really don't appreciate being called dumb over something that you learned about 10 minutes ago, but that has been discussed for years with a large degree of approval.

Official subsilver support is being dropped to allow for focusing of resources where they are most needed. We are working on a new highly customizable style to become the new standard phpBB style. I'm sure that a member of the community will pick up support for subsilver2 (there's already an improved community developed version of it).

I certainly don't expect you to agree with every single decision that's made, but I do expect you to exhibit some basic level of respect.

pit-PL put together subsilver3 and it was last updated last year to 3.0.11, I tried it out and it looked as good as subsilver2, I enstalled it on one of my forums when I thought subsilver2 was going to be dropped from 3.0

as Marshalrusty says this has been discussed for years with a large degree of approval.

we are lucky to have quite few talented stylers in the community such as pit-PL who will be able to pick up the gauntlet on this I am sure :D

Without wanting to sound offensive, but this topic is flogging a dead horse. The decision to remove subsilver is (as Marshalrusty pointed out) nothing new. This has been at length discussed :? . The majority decided to remove it immediately, the developers, however, decided for a step by step phasing out of it.

I use subsilver on all my forums, I think it looks way better than prosilver (which looks dated IMHO), but what are ya gonna do. Just have to suck it up.

Keep in mind that if you're moving from phpBB 3.0 to phpBB 3.2, you're going to have to change styles anyway, because the 3.0 style will not be compatible. By the time 3.2 is released, you can decide to either use a community maintained version of subsilver for 3.2, the default style in 3.2, or an entirely new style that you like more. This change is incredibly unlikely to impact you negatively.

Seriously? Subsilver looks as ancient as VB. Who uses tables for layout these days? I don't like the standard colours of Prosilver, it's too gaudy for my taste, but changing colours is a simple enough task. The responsive Prosilver in 3.1 is a great step forward in making the forum more user friendly on all screen sizes.

Don't get why so many people still have this interest in SubSilver theme. Looked good 10 years ago when phpBB 2 was latest version, long time ago.

it is really funny that anyone would consider prosilver "dated" when comparing it to subsilver.

subsilver and subsilver based styles are much older than prosilver. I have no idea what would constitute "dated" anyway. styles are something that are completely subjective in the first place. what one person considers horrible may be the most beautiful style in the world to another person and both will be correct.

even those that have been commenting lately that they really like the new look of 3.1 are being silly. there is no real difference between the look of prosilver in 3.1 versus prosilver in 3.0.

Is there some easy way to move the posters' info to the left of the posts in prosilver? It really doesn't belong on the right IMHO.

Yes. There's an extension in github which should be out soon after 3.1.

Thats good to hear Kev (about the extension to move profile info from right to left)

I'm another "subsilver" user myself but happy to change over to prosilver to make life easier for myself.

The only thing I could do with is a set of forum images that make it clearer to see which boards have new topics in. The blue and red icons are hard for me to see the difference. Subsilver made it easy with grey icons which changed to filled in orange ones when something was new.

I did try using subsilver imageset on prosilver 3.0.12 but it just looked out of alignment and silly
