Hmm, maybe we need to deal somehow with such kind of broken extensions.
We'll try to do it in later versions.
Thank you for your response. ;)

Hello, guys!

We have jumped into a new version of the extension.

Current version: 3.1.1-RC.

There've been fixed several bugs, some of them are listed below:
- Extensions and their zips now are deleted properly.
- Zip files are now unpacked with standard phpBB functions (previously there were problems with unpacking on some servers).
- Uploaded extensions are now validated before saving. Not-valid extensions that were installed previously now can be deleted with Upload Extensions.
- If you want to update an already installed extension, it will be properly disabled.
- There've been made some style fixes for the file tree.

Most parts of the code were checked and reworked.

Language changes are required for the new version.
We ask translators to update their language packages for our extension. Only the variables marked with // to translate need translating.

New Features:
- Ability to upload extensions from Customisation database on phpbb.com.
- Ability to choose a directory for saving zips.
- Ability to delete broken extensions.
- Uploaded zip files are named properly.

We hope that translators will update their packages soon so that we'll be able to upload the new version to the Customisation database. ;)

Nice update.
LavIgor wrote:- Ability to choose a directory for saving zips.
I would like to ask how can I choose a directory for saving zip files?
I can tick the " Save uploaded zip file" option, but I don't see any other options.

I've described it in Readme file.

Managing zip files
You can do the following actions with zip files uploaded with Upload Extensions:
  • Save them in the directory of your choise. To do that tick the flag Save uploaded zip file near the upload button. To change the directory for saving zip files of uploaded extensions navigate in the ACP to General -> Server configuration -> Server settings -> Path settings -> Extensions' zip packages storage path.
  • Unpack previously saved zip files of extensions. The unpacked extension will be ready for installation immediately.
  • Delete zip files of extensions.
Thank you all for your response!

Now I'd like to add a feature to let this extension safely update itself (because now if you upload its zip file you will have an error - it will disable itself).

This is not an option. This is a possibility.

If you copy a link from phpbb.com CDB to the Upload extension field, the extension will be uploaded.

Previously you could have an error because phpbb.com download links don't end with '.zip'.

Ah, I thought that field was upload anyway.

I just tried adding: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... analytics/
error: The URL you specified is invalid.

Thanks anyway.

Currently only direct links are supported.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... analytics/ is a link to the description page, not a download link.

Instead you should copy a green Download link: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/download/102696.

We've upgraded to the new version.

Extension Version: 3.1.1-RC2 (Release announcement)

Language changes are still required for the new version.
We ask translators to update their language packages for our extension. Only the variables marked with // to translate need translating.

New features and improvements:
- Ability to update Upload Extensions extension with 3 clicks*. (NEW in 3.1.1-RC2)
- Noscript compatibility. (IMPROVED in 3.1.1-RC2)
- Smart description page of Upload Extensions. (IMPROVED in 3.1.1-RC2)

* Since version 3.1.1-RC2 you don't need to use FTP or download zip files to update Upload Extensions.
When updates are available, an update button will appear on the main page of the extension.
Simply click Update buttons that will appear on the screen and the extension will be updated automatically.

You still need to use FTP to install the update 3.1.1-RC2.

If you want the translation to be included in the final package for version 3.1.1, please translate the extension as soon as possible. We want to submit the extension to the database now.
Other translations will be included in the newer version 3.1.2.

No. And I don't think that we need it now.
You can simply copy a download link from phpbb.com to the Upload extension field.
That is possible.

So if you have two tabs opened in your browser - Upload Extensions on your server and phpbb.com - it will be rather easy and fast to find and install all extensions that you want. ;)
