One on one forum

Post by kamaleon »

Hello,

I would like to setup a forum as a one on one. I mean by that that only the user and the admin see a given thread in the forum. For example if I have two users, user1 and user2.

user1 posts something and only the admin and user1 can see it, other users like user2 cannot see that thread
user2 posts something and only the admin and user2 can see it other users like user1 cannot see that thread

Is there a way to setup that?

Thanks

You would need to request an extension for that.

It can't be done with the default setup as permissions are forum based not topic based so you need to ask if anyone can produce an extension (a modification) to do what you want in the 3.1x request forum.

You would need something like this to be converted to an extension.

But as that mod was even a fork of a previous abandoned self auth mod, I doubt it'll happen anytime soon

Yes, but you will have to wait for someone to do so.
