Latest posts view

Post by ulickik »

I would like to have a view of the latest posts on the forum, as is done in the application Tapatalk view "timeline".
Has anyone heard of such a solution for phpbb3.1 or is interested to write for money?

Sorry for bringing this old thread up, but i also would like a extension for this.
I know PHPBB is responsive but the timeline option in Tapatalk keeps me bringing back to Tapatalk!

It could help if you can add some information about how Tapatalk does this. Specifically what's different compared to the default "New posts" feature.
My extensions:
Simple CMS, Feed post bot, Avatar Resize, Modbreak, Magic OGP, Live topic update, Modern Quote, Quoted Where (GDPR) and Autoresponder.
Newest: FAQ manager for 3.2

Like my work? Buy me a coffee to keep it coming. :ugeek:

New posts doesn't last forever. After a while the "New post" page is empty if there a no new posts.
A timeline like in Tapatalk is always an overview from the newest post until the oldest. On forums witch very high numbers of posts, it should have a restriction. e.g. show only posts of the last week, or last x days. Or x per page and fetch the next x when clicking on next page.

Try the Active Topics link. The New Topics are only since your last login.

See "Recent Topics for phpBB 3.2" -> v2.2.1 (14-06-2017)

Anyone tried this? I'm afraid of installing an extension after last time's meltdown.

Yes, using it right now on two forums, without any major problems. Just minor glitches:

I reported the last one on Github but Sajaki closed it without solving it. I don't agree withe the author there:

It's strange that a base install of phpbb wouldn't have this as some sort of toggle. Makes sense to display what's new to users as they arrive.
