Set edit time on a per-forum/per-user basis

Post by Mattix » Thu Jan 08, 2015 3:00 pm

I run a forum which has a normal discussion section and a marketplace. I would like the edit time in the discussion section to be short (for discussion integrity) and the edit time in the marketplace section to be long (so people can edit their own post when something sells or they want to mark their wares down).

Essentially this: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=1346435

...for 3.1 :)

I am on this. I will do an extension.
I am currently working on another extension. This one will be next or second-next :D

But is it really needed on forum-basis? Didn't thought about that until this post. I can do that, if it is really needed, but for me I don't need that.
If you have a specific extension request and you are willing to pay for, you can write me a PM.

Awesome!

It would be ideal for my usecase as described above. Per-user would be a bonus, but not really needed in my case.

Actually, per-group would be great too for a scenario where you have 'trusted sellers' or something like that.

Exactly this i have done 2 days ago for my own forum as 3.1 Mod, not ideal... but i need the edit right now for our team, until your Ext is finished. ;)

Edit: Sorry, NOT exactly this. My mod gives the rights to specific forums so all TS's can edit their start post at anytime.

Update to all topic subscribers: look at gn#36's "Customize first post edit permissions".
