Who is online: shows PORTAL page as Index page. How to display right?

Post by Car2013 »

Hello,

I looked and looked, but didnt find.
Simply, in my 'WHO IS ONLINE LIST'...when somebody is on the Portal, shows 'Index', as he was on main page.
Id like to correct this, but dont know how.

And Id appreciate any help.

Thanks.

in many portal MODs the index is changed to be the portal page.

therefore, it would be correct that they are shown as being on index when viewing the portal page.

Because it was locked.

Plus...doesnt exist a topic or mod about this. And if exist..the search doesnt work (as I told before).
Finally, it's not a mod which I install. It's simply a portal...another page created on forum.

If somebody can help, Id appreciate.

So please, dont tell to go some place if doesnt exist.

Thanks

You had to have gotten your "shoes portal" somewhere.
Wherever that was, that is where you need to ask your question.

look at the title of your post. you are the one that said "shoes portal".

are you saying you just created a new page and you are calling it the portal?

please give us a link to your board and explain a little better what you are talking about.

Perhaps a "typo" and should have been "shows" - I have to admit that it had me baffled for a few days.

First of all... about 'shoes portal'... I didnt see that, and also thought it was a joke :) Just now I saw. So, Im sorry for my mistake. And thanks, David.

But now, about the issue... it was a page me and my friend created...and works as a portal. I mean... it functions as www.myforum.com/name-of-the-page-created.php

However, perhaps something is missing...being that the 'who's online mechanism' doesnt 'find' the 'name-of-the-page-created' info and displays Index instead.

Moved to Mod Writers discussion. So this is a custom page written by you.
Have you looked into viewonline.php at all? It is a simple matter to add a new custom page to that.

The main guts of viewonline.php is a switch/case statement that has a case for each page. Just add a case for your page.
